He is 8 years younger than Bunnahabhain 2002 17yo Madeira Finish, which was also published for Fèis Ìle 2020. In terms of quality, I see them at the same level, but it seems more harmonious and balanced here.
(Fèis Ìle 2020-Dram, Bunnahabhain Open Day)

Old, creaky leather armchair, pipe tobacco from previous years hanging in the room. Raisins, dried figs and dates, fermented grapes, damp forest floor. Delicious and inviting, not too sweet, not too offbeat. A little bit of smoke that can push itself forward from the background over time.
    • Taste
      89 89
Strong, mouth-filling and creamy start. Here now with clearer smoke entry. Sweet, dried apricots, fermented grapes and currants. Nutmeg, allspice, a little liquorice. Malt and cereals, biscuit dough with chocolate mixed in.
    • Finish
      88 88
Medium-length and dry finish, in which the slightly moldy aromas ultimately take the lead. Sweet, fermented grapes and dried apricots form the balancing counterpoint.

Nice, exactly what you'd expect, a good young Amontillado smoker, I like that
    • Nose
Pleasant smoke blows towards you along with a dark chocolate note, a pinch of cinnamon, bacon, smoked bacon, slightly sour fruit, reminds me strongly of the Amontillado Cairdeas from 2014, minimal glue, lime, nuts, the basic tone is quite dry and also fresh, light sweetness comes into play only through a subtle plum note, slightly musty, the cinnamon has a very slight tendency to go towards cheese feet, overall it is very pleasant to give, it gives you a warm feeling and anticipation of the first sip
    • Taste
oily, dry, cinnamon, spicy smoke, then massive creamy sweetness on the palate, chocolate, bittersweet, espresso, also here sweet plums, nice change after a very dry start
    • Finish
back of the mouth feel drier again, the smoke stays on the palate, the creamy sweetness also stays, nuts, still slightly spicy, cinnamon, pleasant

Fantastic surprise! This whisky has so many layers of flavors. Very nice Bunnahabhain style peat and for such a relatively young whisky it is surprisingly well balanced. Now even a bigger fan of Bunnahaibhain. It is a really strong whisky in experience, even for an Islay wkisky. Love it

Another very good Bunnahabhain Feis ile bottling!
    Price is still ok!
    • Nose

Reminds me of a spring bench / fruity / some smoke .... very good!
    • Taste
      90 90
      The spring bench has disappeared.
Black pepper, some strawberry, subtle sweetness, light smoke
Sharp on the tongue, it tinkles
    • Finish
      89 89
      You immediately notice the alcohol.
      Long finish!
A little too spicy for me.

Fruity, slightly smoky ... Exactly my taste
    • Taste
      92 92
The sweetness of the Bunna really unfolds on the palate and tongue.
    • Finish
      92 92
The barrel thickness is clearly visible in the finish.
A smoky note rounds off the overall package of a very tasty single malt.
Despite its young years, a very powerful and quite successful bottling.

N: Light but still present smoke. Something dirty. The nose has more of Campbeltown than Islay. After adding water, the smoke becomes softer, with notes of herbs and some citrus behind it.

M: The smoke is clearer in the taste than in the nose. In addition honey and yellow fruit notes, apricots. The texture is very oily. With water, the smoke recedes and the honey becomes stronger.

Q: More smoke. In addition herbs. Finish lasts a long time.

I like it very much and develops noticeably in the glass. Goes in the direction of Springbank CS, but is much rounder and less dirty in the mouth.

ose: A nice citrus fruit entry, mostly on ripe blood oranges (reminds me our Kilchoman Madeira finish, in some ways, of course this is unpeated) ,mandarins. There’s quite a lot of spice too – with ginger powder, nutmeg, and old dunnage warehouses, maybe dried figs leather, quite fragrant, and develops nicely with an addition of a few drops of water.

Palate: Starting sweet and spicy, with more of the gingery hotness, maybe some spicy cinnamon gum , white pepper and more of the figs, and maybe a slight sultana note, nicely balanced by the oak.

Finish: dry, Oak-y and bitter with dark chocolate and orange marmalade.

Conclusion : Very good stuff indeed, the Madeira adds a nice fruity, fig and orange zest, but I am missing some polished oak and some more wood for a 18-year-old whisky… I expected more, to be honest.
