- Fans of Ardbeg or generally heavily peated whiskys must have tried the Corryvreckan. Hard to beat at the price as everyday whisky.
It directly shows the typically strongly peaty, salty, iodine nose, which is confirmed in the taste. In direct comparison with Wee Beastie, 10 Years and Uigeadail, it is even more intense and, above all, more durable. Despite the high alcohol content very pleasant to drink, but that still leaves room for experimentation with water.
The experiment is worth it. I have rarely experienced such a strong change in taste as here. Diluted with a little water, unexpected fruit notes suddenly appear on the nose. They even dominate the smoke until the end, which then takes over again.
Conclusion: An intense, peaty and multifaceted whisky with awesome PLV.
