Pretty awesome drop. If it were filled in barrel strength, there would certainly be 94-96 points.

This bottling is pretty close to perfect daily dram.

Bought 6 bottles on Friday, 4 survived the weekend with my brother intact.

Super done with a great PLV and a more than successful re-design. The bottle looks fantastic, the color is what I want from a sherry malt, the 46% are not too weak and not too strong and typical aromas of raisin, caramel, wood and orange with really good complexity.
    Deanston PX has competition

    • Nose
Very powerful for 46%, a lot of intense dark spice, sherry sweetness comes immediately afterwards in the middle part, there is also fermented fruitiness, really very intense spicy sherry sweetness, super round and great for the percentages
    • Taste
Here too, intensive spicy, good sherry sweetness, super round and for 46% top quality. Better than expected, really intense, round malt.
    • Finish
Remains on the palate for a medium length

Very nice composition that offers everything that I particularly appreciate about Elsburn. In barrel strength it would have been over 90 points.
    • Nose
      89 89
Sour sherry aromas, nice and intense, balsamic, sweetness, some chestnuts and nuts.
    • Taste
      89 89
Sweet and sour, beautiful fruity notes, nutty, the chestnut edge typical of young Elsburn is there. Pleasant texture, the alcohol is well integrated.
The composition actually offers a certain complexity.
    • Finish
      88 88
Sherry aromas, sweetness and subtle oak bitterness merge and remain for a medium length.

Very well made sherry bomb from the resin still, which is always good for positive surprises. Enthusiastic and in terms of price and performance fully competitive with comparable sherry single malts from Scotland in the age group up to 15yo or in the price group 65-70 EUR.
Both neat and with a few drops of water full of enjoyment over a period of 3 months

Plum, red, ripe fruit, dried fruit, raisins, Christmas spices, all in all profound and complex.

Impressive natural color: dark - like old good Amontiladosherry
    • Taste
      94 94
incredibly creamy-sweet mouthfeel, very tasty. Complex with lots of sherry aromas, especially from the px barrel. Plum, raisin, Christmas cake, dark, ripe fruits, discreet oak spiciness with a well-integrated alcohol content
    • Finish
      93 93
long, warming, mouthwashing. Otherwise everything that nose and button promised

No sweet sherry, but spicy. The raisins will come through. I often know the taste from the rum corner.
