Very different from your dime-a-dozen heavily peated single malt, this Croftengea 2005 15 Years by Michiel Wigman is a bold pick.
    • Nose
Barely any cask influence. Subtly peated spirit with hints of green veggies, quite earthy and a touch of sulphur, but also pineapple, citronella and vanilla beans.
    • Taste
Soft peat, ripe bananas, ashy lemon zest and some peppery spices. It is rather briny as well, with touches of green olives and some seaweed too.
    • Finish
Lingering malt, some burnt toast, ashes and a hit of vanilla. Medium in length.

    Blender's Glass.
It is better not to smell immediately after opening - it is strongly fuzzy and young. Let it stand well - for sure about 20 minutes ... Better - 30 ...
Light fuseliness remains, the nose is malty, but very spicy ... Fresh grass, lemon, ashes of a long-extinguished fire, minerality ...
The taste is much better, young, bright, caustic, explosive - salty mineral ... Pleasant and impressive. Makes you wake up.
    Finish medium, light, grassy-salty
Moltik for a drink - if not for the fuzziness in the nose, it would be great, but for now 85

It is necessary to warm and allow to breathe for 15-20 minutes, then the aroma develops and becomes more complete and interesting, although light smoky and delicate dry herbs in one bottle
Very good whisky to drink ...

Good whisky with a nice complexity. The delayed bitterness is nice. But, in a way it disappointed me a bit. Maybe expected more of this dram. Nose: medicinal, hint of meat and peat. Hay! Taste: Toffee, bitters, old wood and lemon zest. Finish: smooth, long and perfume-like. Sand and smoke.

Medicinal nose with meat and hint of peat with hay and ash.

Burning alcohol although it is not superstrong. Lots of sweet tones (toffee) with smoke again and old wood with stones. Hints of bitter. Very strong with lemon zest.
    • Finish
      80 80
Smooth and long with hints of hay and something perfume-like. Lovely finish with ashes and sand. Smoke remains.

Cold ashes, citrus, herbs, the pit is a bit on the medicinal side, very drinkable
