Obviously the color is dark and invites one to think of red fruits. Not a bad idea since I get on the nose plenty of dry fruits like prunes and raisins, but also dark chocolate and tobacco On the mouth dry fruits and chocolate listed above, before showing more caramel aromas, without being over sweet. This is a complex whisky that is constantly evolving and changing its profile. In a very good way. Move over Macallan the new King of Spey is in town.

Strong, intense sherry malt that is too sherry-dominant for me, but remains consistently true to this line. Spices provide a good contrast here, but are not enough to break this dominance. A little water makes it more pleasing.
    • Nose
Lots of dark fruits and dried fruits. Red berries, cherries, raisins and figs combined with spices of cinnamon, cloves and a little coriander. In addition, everything is very sweet. A very intense malt.
A nice chocolate-rum-nut note forms in the background. Somehow you don't even notice the high alcohol content. In addition, slightly sour fruit notes and slightly dry red wine aromas develop over time.
    • Taste
Pure sharpness without water. Decent flavor and slightly astringent. Lots of fruit and sherry sweetness.
Plum jam, raisins, cherries, orange peel. Chocolate mixed with rum. Lots of sweetness with old, musty leather.
Water dampens the heat but brings out more oak flavor and provides even more intense sherry flavors with cloves and cinnamon.
    • Finish
Medium-long finish, dry, red wine, fruity, coffee with cinnamon and still spicy.

Liquid chocolate croissant with cherry glaze. HOT!

Heavy sherry bomb. Not for every day, but I like it!

    Great dram, rich, sherried, balanced.

A lot of red fruit, linoleum, spicy, caramel, chocolate, nutty, not much alcohol.
    • Taste
      90 90
Strong, powerful, red fruit, prunes. Pepper, spicy. Orange. Chocolate.
    • Finish
      90 90
Still powerful, prunes. Warming. Red fruits, chocolate. Very long, spicy.

Nice heavily sherried whisky. Unfortunately the sherry notes overpowers everything else in the glass.
    • Nose
      89 89
Dusty cola cubes, sherry and black wine gums.
    • Taste
      86 86
Viscous and dense mouthfeel. Overpoweringly sherried with a green banana note. Not very sweet.
    • Finish
      86 86
      Drying and medium in length.

A very enjoyable dram, smooth with caramel, toffee and even more toffee. Really enjoyed this and only wish I had purchased more .. a top offering from the mighty Tamdhu.

with water: it tolerates water very well, it tames the nose, becomes sweeter, more raisins, it also becomes significantly calmer in the mouth, but still very oily, in the finish there are very nice caramel notes, I would definitely add water guess

Conclusion: A modern sherry cracker made from damp barrels, which is maybe a little too young, but otherwise it's a lot of fun, especially with the addition of water

Blackberry liqueur, black currant, strawberry, nutty, cherries, tobacco and some leather, chocolate, raisins, strong alcohol, and therefore some fresh mint, some old furniture in the background, cloves
    • Taste
      88 88
Strong start with a lot of sherry, raisins, chocolate, very strong alcohol, thus peppery, dark sweetness, toffee, and oak
    • Finish
      87 87
medium to short, sherry, oak, but then not much follows
