    • Nose
Baked apple with vanilla sugar, orange, caramelized pear ... a little acetone with water.Simple but nice (22)
    • Taste
      Oily, juicy, fruity (22,5)
    • Finish
The finish continues the taste, chocolate and wood are added. The tongue stings acetone acid (21.5)

Good summer malt for the der
The palate is more appropriate for a 24, but the nose is not. More should come. If you tasted it blind, it would be very useful across the board.

Light, gentle, with woody aromas right at the beginning. After a short time, however, vanilla, passion fruit yoghurt, a little oak appear with a subtle tart grapefruit and citrus note. Glen Keith can do that better too. In general, it looks more angular here in the nose. There is also malt and something floral like fresh hay.
    • Taste

A little more pressure on the boiler. Peppery, spicy onset in the mouth. But it doesn't look really hot. A nice creamy side shows itself. Beautiful honey sweetness in combination with fruity pineapple, pear, light grapes. Here, too, a subtle sour note that turns into a cooling note. Great development of the malt, varied and round.
    • Finish
      86 86
Medium-long finish, a bit tart, a bit bitter, fruit and vanilla remain with a touch of dry hay.

Keith in his classic style. Balanced enough, but I would like to have a higher density for this age

N: in the sourness aroma (traditional for this distillery) creamy sweetness comes out from under it, very easily, do not rely on cake. Weakens with little time

T: cinnamon pastry, duchess, delicious overall, but not a masterpiece

F: duchess sweetness, astringency, tongue cramping (interesting)

Fairly flat whisky, from 24 years old and a single barrel release, you clearly expect more

I've tried two 1993 Glen Keiths before this, and the difference is palpable. Character-wise, this one is much more yeasty and lactic, less citric and tart. A very natural Keith, but also a somewhat rough one. Great on the palate, though!

Basically a wooden washback. Yeasty, sour-sweet, with big barley and yoghurt notes framed by oak. Almost reminds me of Ben Nevis in a way. Certainly has a rugged, naturalistic charm of its own, but it's also pretty far removed from my Platonic ideal of what a 24-year-old boubon-cask-matured malt should bring to the table.
    • Taste
      88 88
Wait, what's the ABV again? Super sweet and mild; this really feels like 43-46 percent. Close to 50? Amazing...
It's plenty of white fruit pulp upfront: pineapple, melon, lychee... Juicy and rich on the palate, with just enough acidity to keep it fresh, and not a tart moment in sight until it runs down the hatch. At the death, you get more spice and pepper, but it's well within limits. The immature yeasty aspcect from the nose is mostly irrelevant on the palate. Very good development that hits at least four different major taste impressions (sweet, sour, spicy, tart).
    • Finish
      87 87
Curiously, the excellent flavor impression doesn't carry through into the finish all the way. Here, the tart aspect wins out over the sweet and juicy character eventually. Still very good, though.

    Very smooth faceless whisky
At this age, there should be colors of tastes, but unfortunately they are not!
Not at all typical for Glen Keith
