with water: the nose becomes sweeter, the same applies to taste and finish

Conclusion: very interesting, but in the Fiish it is almost uncomfortably sweet to me, a spicy oak part is missing, which affects it, but otherwise a great experiment

very interesting combination of the sweet grape notes and the spicy rye notes. It needs some time in the glass, at first it is quite young, a little bit bubbly and alcohol-heavy, that settles after a while, it gets sweeter and sweeter in the nose, the balance between rye and PX is right, maybe you could have taken a little less PX, Vanilla, dried herbs, cookie dough, fermented grapes, plums
    • Taste

sweet start with PX flavors (grapes, plums), almost a bit like a sweet Cohnag, then the spice of the rye is added, a little pepper
    • Finish
      80 80
also here the very nice combination of PX and Rye, almost uncomfortably cute at the back

Not a perfect malt, rye and px could be married better to form a unity in taste, but good enough to be a fun sipper. Generally sherry and rye seem to go well together (another example being Glina Rye with sherry finish). Maybe a bit young and for sweet tooths, I wonder how Oloroso would fare with rye instead.
Update: Becomes more harmoneous over time but 1st half dominated by px flavors + sweetness, 2nd half by rye spiciness. Still 85 p. overall for me. Works well with medium strong cigar e.g. Rocky Patel.

A strong sherry finish was put on a relatively insignificant rye. In the world of Scottish whiskey, the procedure is quite often an indicator of "weaker" bottlings and so it also appears with this rye. The finish comes to the fore and everything that remains of the rye itself is a strong spice and a pungent note of alcohol. All in all an interesting experiment, but the finish really doesn't do anything for this rye. I think a slightly longer finish in less active barrels, combined with a better rye, might give better results.

A wonderful new creation. The sweetness of the light PX finish rounds out the already fairly smooth character of this whiskey.
It has a lot of spice and fruity flavours, a rich, full bodied flavour.
More american whiskey with sherry finishes are definitely welcome!
