    Yet another case of a Feis bottling where the top reviews are from users with closed bottles.

    Since there was no Feis this year and no sample bottles likely went out to people that weren't reviewers this should be a no brainer. Enough of these fake reviewers!

    Intensive peated whisky. I had this at an PC tasting with Adam Hanett in february. You get the PC taste, but with a lot more complexity. Usually im a fan of younger peated Whiskys. Here you get a well aged whisky with a lot of power.
    I really liked it. But its a little overpriced

    "This heavily peated Port Charlotte is the oldest we have released to date. Distilled in 2003, our Scottish Barley new-make was filled into three different parcels of casks.

    Parcel One // Refill hogsheads, recasked into first fill bourbon barrels in 2012

    Parcel Two // First fill bourbon barrels, recasked into ex-Sauternes casks in 2013

    Parcel Three // A complex assemblage of ex-sherry, ex-bourbon and virgin oak casks

    This mouthwatering maturation profile is bottled at 55.8% abv and is limited to 3,000 bottles, which can only be purchased through our ballot."

    Nose - sweet smoked bacon, barbecue sauce, praline, and all this sprinkled with salt.
    Taste - ongoing blast of sweet bbq smoke, saltiness, sweet cocoa on milk.
    Finish - melting, slightly earthy smoke and toffee, lasting on the lips
    To sum up - very pleasant, you can feel the peat claw in it but it is also much more complex and interesting.

    Very nice PC that you want to taste forever. Smell and taste can hit a certain nerve, which beams you straight into the distillery.

      Starts sweet-spicy-smoky with a pleasant bacon note. The intensity of the smoke is just right: strong enough to clearly identify the malt as an Islay smoker, subtle enough to allow other flavors to pass by easily. Mildly bitter herbs, heather, a hint of ginger. Milk chocolate, cafe au lait, caramel, honey. Lemon. A ham seasoned with herbs, salt and pepper and slowly dried over peat smoke.

      Highly burning flood of peat smoke, accompanied by citrus fruits, forest honey, herbs, ginger, anise and liquorice. Dry from the start. Milk chocolate, toffee. Soft caramel. Although it has a certain fruit sweetness, it cannot be split further. Citrus, yes, but unlike the classic Ardbeg citrus-full ashtray note, the PC 16 spreads warmly on the tongue and is accessible for long-term tasting.

      Medium to long, dry, increasingly smoky, without leaving the other flavors behind. Remains fruity sweet and slightly herbaceous for a long time, while providing a base made of milk chocolate, toffee and espresso beans.

    A dream that just really sweetened my day, in the truest sense of the word, decent sweet wine, which is often half the battle for me, great smoke, couldn't drink anything else all day .... let's see; - )
    • Nose
      At the beginning it is dominated by the sweet wine, sweet, creamy, slightly nutty, grape juice, caramel, slightly spicy and dry smoke, fondant, I was hoping that the sweet wine would get through here and in the nose it is definitely like that, behind it a little sour red fruit, it brings another sweetness, slightly effervescent, these PEZ effervescent tablets raspberry taste, with a slightly peppery spice, a pinch of cinnamon swings with the smoke, I like
      After the first sip, the custard comes through in the nose, there is little that I prefer to smell, great, so creamy

      wow, what a start, full-bodied, creamiest, sweet, custard, medium smoke, light seasoning, cinnamon sprinkled very lightly over it, here too the sweet wine sets the tone, a hint of sulfur, light laddie muff, burnt caramel, included but somehow light and delicate, a tingling mouthfeel, accompanied by a slight freshness, very beautiful

      Then the sherry comes through at the back, yes here light raisins, nuts, roasted aromas, some chocolate on the palate, whole milk, very creamy, the sweet wine comes through with nice sweetness again and again, wow, I can't get out of enjoying it, great aftertaste, long and very pleasant

    First tasting: Uncertain ...
    Much more complexity and more wood spicy than the 10yo - more influence from time and cask. Not as sweet as the 10yo, more drying. Some water opens it up. Sweeter and less spicy/punchy with water.
