A bottling just the way I like it. Full, oily, complex - without appearing superimposed. Wonderfully ripened malt with exciting aromas, the waxy notes give that certain something. Reminds me a little of the many good Clynelish SC vases from the refill sherry barrel. Highly recommendable and a very fair price at the time of issue.

Well balanced! With blood oranges, dried fruits and dark chocolate. Very waxy and with sun drenched raisins and dated.

Fruits, mature figs, complex and harmonious with a solid body. Water helped to produce heather, more sunny fruits and figs. Fantastic taste to complement the beautiful aroma. Orange peel, chocolate, spices and some oak wood.

Long and complex. Full of spices and nuts. Much better with a little water.

Eyes: Golden Scent Nose: Melon peel, pears, daisies, fresh bourbon barrels, smoked toasted wood, caramelized brulees, cheese, and some fruit syrup for a little wake up. The smell is quite soft. Then it became sweeter and sweeter, and candied fruits became dominant. Canned yellow peaches, pineapple pie, honeyed lemon.
Taste Palate: obvious acidity, fruit vinegar, cereals, fruit cakes, white flowers. The middle section is fine salt, a little ginger, and roasted. The end is coconut flakes, wood fiber, cheese, and lemon peel.
Finish: long, bitterness of sawdust and grapefruit peel, astringent and astringent body. Body: medium body, rich in oils and strong wine power

After the blind tasting, my guess at the time was: the alcohol content is 50-55 degrees, bourbon barrels, which Speyside winery's IB is bottled? I feel that the wine age is between 15-25.
After I learned that it was Kleichach, emmmmm, but I really didn't smell the sulphur, only a slight smoky smell, but it was still delicious.

Strong vinegar sour, hints of honey sweet, rich spices including Fennel, cinnamon, Brasil. Black peppers, and noticeable lemon juice, rich cream, the v-sourness brings back sweet liqorice, defat milk, citrus peel bitterness, oily bodies, really great. 90

It will not be the best state to open the bottle. After 2 days, there will be no alcohol stimulation, flower and fruit fragrance, sugar fragrance, cocoa flavor, and smoke flavor. The entrance is very sweet and soft. It brings fruit and sweet food, just right. The tail rhyme is comfortable and medium long. The aftertaste of preserved fruit is especially obvious, sweet and cool.

It is clean, fresh and fruity. No matter smell, taste and aftertaste, it can't do without fruit flavor. What I like most is the taste. It's very delicious and easy to drink

Very, very tasty. The fruit-spice combination convinced me. The different coffee and chocolate notes are also good. And in between there are a few more special things to discover. Full review (german): https://keinehalbendrinks.de/2020/09/01/mehr-speyside-im-glas/

with water: it rises with a little water, becomes softer without losing its full-bodied character

Conclusion: Classic old sherry malt without any fancy, that's what a sherry whisky has to be

Sherry, but not too pushy, but well balanced, red fruits, blackberry, currant, orange notes, raisins, chocolate, plum jam, subtle spiciness due to the oak (clove, nutmeg), alcohol is well balanced, there is also some balsamic vinegar

Sweet sherry, actually more of a PX nose? Sugared raisins and caramel. Very strong dried plums in the rum. Honey and beeswax. The nose is deceptive of sugar and smells creamy, if you can put it that way. Hot. After some time in the glass still fruits ... hmm..Orange?
Perfume in the mouth and very strong beeswax. Caramel, chocolate, nuts, dried fruit ... everything you expect and like. Soft and beautiful complexity, the age shows. Creamy.
In the finish, a little pepper on the tongue, but also the typical slightly bitter dark chocolate. The taste stays in the mouth for a long time.

Very nice nose. It is like in the SMWS discription.
The sherry is there and prominent, but there is room for more. For some reason it smells light and delicate as well.
    • Taste
      92 92
Really, really good! There is a lot of complexity. This is not a one-sided sherry monster, but as in the smell, there is more going on. And it's smooth. I drank it neat and with water, but even neat the alcohol isn't prominent.

      Long, very long.
There is the cinnamon as promised.

Well, to be short. I think it's an awesome whisky.

    SMWS Tasting Notes:

What a colour! What a nose! Dried orange peel, redcurrants, balsamic, yoghurt-coated raisins in a nutty chocolate and making old school hand-dipped beeswax candles. Then, what an arrival on the palate! So chewy, mouth-watering and full-on without being aggressive - this is truly old school spirit meeting old school sherry! A drop of water and we were in oloroso heaven; milk chocolate-covered walnuts, Turkish delight, plums figs and freshly squeezed sweet blood orange juice. To taste now, big red fruits balanced with the dry edge of cinnamon buns and clove spice all washed down with an exquisite coffee liqueur.
