I was not disappointed. A beautiful old bottling in which the typical Benromach aromas come into their own with a soft elegance.
The dram is surprisingly lively in the nose. Soft and fruity with beautiful citrus aromas, yellow melon, heather honey, hay, vanilla and wax. The variety of flavors is very delicate and for me the character of the distillery is quite recognizable.
The soft nature of the whisky is again noticeable on the palate. Slightly oily, a fruity sweetness spreads in the mouth, followed by a fresh mint note to light white pepper. Here too there are yellow fruit notes and a hint of vanilla. All in all nicely balanced, but it cannot quite meet the expectations when you smell it.
The medium-long finish has a pleasant sweetness, followed by fresh mint and waxy heather honey. Again, I can see Benromach well.
