It is a very soft and pure whiskey, pleasantly sweet and with not too emphatic wood tones. The whiskey matures in a combination of bourbon, sherry and wine casks.
    The color is light gold
    • Nose
In the nose aromas of crème brûlée, cardamom, honey and rose blossom.
    • Taste
Taste is very mild with notes of mint and honey.
    • Finish
In the clean aftertaste it has notes of spicy oak with subtle bittersweet accents.

  2. WhiskeryTurnip scored this whisky 75 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Far more delicate and complex than I was expecting with notes of sweet creamed corn, willow bark, and subtle florals.
    • Taste
Creamy oatmeal sweetened with light brown sugar. My wife found that it veered more towards crisp green apples. As promised by the nose the body is very light and smooth, absent any harsh unrefined alcohol notes I feared I would find in a young grain whisky. There are some odd savory notes similar to nori that pop up from time to time.
    • Finish
Medium length, pleasing sweet creamy corn fades across the palate.

This is alright actually, not loads going on and a little boring but it's steady. It's something you would pour yourself whilst watching a film and not give it much thought, yet it's still going down easy.

I don't know what it is with me and the nose of single grain whisky.
I always find them difficult to fathom out.
      This is no exception.
Butter and marmalade on white bread.
      Nothing else jumps out.
    • Taste
      80 80
And as always the taste is something else.
Again it is quite buttery and sweet and spicy.
More fruit coming through like lemon, golden delicious apple, kiwi and dried banana.
    • Finish
      70 70
A medium finish that is quite dry and slightly bitter.
This I don't mind at all as long as there is other stuff going on to back it up but nothing here, it's dry, bitter then dead.

    Appearance: pale yellow
Nose: herbs, fruit, cinnamon, coconut, sweet and a hint of marzipan or almond
Mouthfeel: Excellent, very elegant and pleasant
Flavor: oak, sweetness, again cinnamon, slightly spicy, with coconut and marzipan
Finish: medium-long, sweet, a little fruity and a little oak. But rather poor.

A harmonious painting. Not exciting but very good craftsmanship!
