Nose: Sweet peat elements, citrus fruits, light sherry.
Taste: Sweet peat smoke, with an added sherry element. Strong flavor. Pretty well combined.
Rating: 89 | 100 A fairly long finish with a peat profile with some sherry. A very nice whisky.

nose on fresh peat, craft paper, characteristic intense sherry, citrus, a little seaweed in return!
the mouth leaves on the fruity dried and sweet fruit (Oloroso cask), on the peat well in place, very oily, which remains in the glass, the nostrils, which permeates the scents. A little honey, cooked and preserved citrus fruits that last.
The finish is long, tenacious with peat, seaweed that begins to dry and lemon, a little fleeting spice.
the next day the glass reveals cold ash and dried fruit.

with water: there is a wet cardboard box and a herbal note, so I would leave out the water here, especially because the alcohol is also not very well integrated

Conclusion: as usual, a high-quality malt from TWE, the PX barrel does not overpower the malt and is really fun with it.

Nice peat smoke with a slight rubbery note, a little Swalz, plus the fermented grape sweetness of the PX barrel, which harmonizes well with the peat, as the PX influence is clear, but not too strong, the peat goes a little into the iodized salt corner who blindly assessed as a Laphroaig
    • Taste
      88 88
very oily, light grape sweetness, but it gets stronger and then gives way to the peat, again well balanced here, if the peat nor the sweetness become too strong
    • Finish
      89 89
long, grapes, honey, apples combined with peat, pebble beach and some oak, which brings liquorice notes
