Very little red wine influence, if any - which is possibly a good thing. Out of respect to WHB who I greatly admire, I wont do any points - this is one of those whiskies for those with more refined palates than mine.
    • Nose
Colour dark gold. spirity fondant icing nose, a touch of cooked raspberry jam if you really look for it
    • Taste
This ones a biter, sharp on the attack even with water. nice to taste a whisky without sherry or bourbon influence - but could have done with 4 more years in cask to mellow. some unripe honeydew melon, again the raspberry jam
    • Finish
drops off quickly leaving a lingering burn.

The alcohol stings a bit; when the nose gets used to it, milk chocolate comes first. Also some raspberry jam, blackberry and black currant. Some wood and dust in the background. No sulfur. Appears somewhat younger than 10 years in total.

Crass berry. As if I were eating a raspberry and blackberry jam. But above all, I have the feeling that there are a lot of berry seeds in the jam that I chew on. Irritating at first because I actually wanted to drink whisky and not eat jam. But it tastes good. The body is a bit too thin for me, I would have preferred it to be a bit "viscous".
    • Finish
      91 91
Medium length with berries and berry seeds. Fruity, tart, very clean. The alcohol doesn't bother, but it could be a little bit more involved.
