A unique whiskey that can be safely called dessert. Sweet, fruity, with a lot of fruit from the orchard, but also notes of chocolate with a little smoke and hot coffee. The alcohol is completely imperceptible.
    Is it worth buying?
In my opinion, it's worth it, I recommend it!

  2. KB201 did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

The Bushmills Three Woods bears its nickname because it consists of a mixture of bourbon, sherry and port wine cask aged whiskeys.
The 16-year-old is only extremely rarely available on the market.

Great start with an intense aroma. Peach and apricot are there immediately, marzipan, a floral note that I cannot assign, spiciness, no alcoholic notes, the vanilla is also there. Quite similar in taste, but unfortunately can't quite keep up with the nose, it's a bit too thin for me, I'm missing a few percent. Long finish with chocolate and some oak.

Certainly not bad, with a few percent more buying it would not be ruled out, so I'll have to save on the 21-year-old Bushmills, who I like better overall.

From a tumbler, suggestion from the Old Bushmills News, I even like it a little bit better!

Intense dram, bold big flavours but balanced at the same time. Confused it with a rye (?) in a blind tasting due the spiciness...

Slightly watery mouthfeel compared to what I expected from the nose.

Quite long with some complexity and cacao notes.

Immediate apricot! Intense sweetness. Vanilla and honey. Fresh pears.
    • Taste

Great smoothness. Apricot really carries through, then some citrus.
    • Finish
      86 86
      Medium-long. Honey, caramel, spices.

    Drunk in a vertical tasting of the 3 core-range components: 10yo, 16yo, 21yo.
This whiskey is aged for over 15 years in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry oloroso casks, then aged for 9 months in ex-port casks.
    Great fine whiskey, very elegant
    • Nose
Sweet scent, sherry, custard and a little coffee powder, zero alcohol
    • Taste
Light body, sweet but not too much flavor, creamy and slightly spicy
    • Finish
Medium, sweet and creamy finish, with a hint of mint

Really not far from the old bottlings, which were half the price.
Nose: slightly floral, peach I find the dominant note, slightly sweet and floral, nutty
Mouthfeel: Pleasant and mild, not dry
Mouth: A ripe sweet peach turns into a slightly leathery, still fruity note
Finish: a bit subtle but nice, again with peach, sweetness and a hint of dark chocolate

really beautiful Irish who is fun and not boring
    • Nose
Full sherry load, red fruits, heavy and leathery, some black currant, alcohol is well integrated, no smoke, nice and oily, the influence of wood is still limited, so I would stay under 20y from the age, great nose
    • Taste
Uiii is the sweet ... Is there sherry sugar candy? Tasty, it is darker and leatherier than expected, but the wood influences are still restrained, very oily in taste.
    • Finish
Here comes plum quite clearly and still this intense early aroma, a few tannins are added to it but really wood is not felt.

Room temperature when drinking: 14 ℃

    Viewing Eyes: Copper Gold

Smell Nose: honey, vanilla, cream cake, stewed apples. Slowly turn into Yanjin plum meat, mint pear paste sugar, some kind of unripe fruit. After a few minutes, the fresh jam, which is now boiling, began to appear. Rich plum, similar to the white floral fragrance of jasmine and tuberose, rose sauce, mixed with slight oak, fallen leaves and dried fruits. At the end there is a slightly acidic fruit. In just ten minutes, the taste changes rich, fine, no wonder lls likes Aiwei.

Taste Palate: nectarine, cherry sauce, maltose, banana cake. Then there are peach soda with bubbles, peach mousse, lychee, and the aftertaste is the milky fragrance of figs, macadamia. Barrel flavor did not appear throughout.

End rhyme Finish: Medium, the creamy and green color of the fig, highly restored fresh fig, very much like the fig of Diptyque, it is simply a whiskey version. The ending is the soft sweetness of the peach meat, and the weak earthy taste caused by the green feeling.

Body: Extremely light, smooth and easy to drink. Generously spread out various flavors, with distinct layers and smooth connection. This kind of elegance never loses its expressive power, revealing a corner lightly, but I dare not take it lightly, let alone say I have seen its magnificent picture.

    Nose: 89/100

    Palate: 89/100

    Finish: 89/100

    Body: 88/100

    Overall: 89/100

Overall: The style is very easy to capture. It shows the most beautiful appearance of my beloved fig. The elements are rich but not complicated, and they are presented in an orderly manner. The single ones are as beautiful as notes, and the combination is a harmonious concerto. Considering that it is only 40 °, it can have such expressive power, I think it is already OK. The shortcoming is that the bottle is too ordinary, and it deserves more delicate packaging. Buying a large bottle must be finished within a few days, and wine consumption is also a disadvantage: 3
