Great light red, pink color. Slightly oily in the glass.
Dark fruits after grapes, plums, raisins. Some strawberries and currants are also included. Somehow I have a rosé note in my nose. Freshly opened wine. Plenty of sweet notes. Marzipan and cinnamon are in the background. In addition woody notes, somehow like pine needles.
Quite an appealing nose, which unfortunately also reveals little and slows down the intensity of the aromas.
But you only really notice when you've tried. Then the difference between restrained nose and taste is clear!
Soft, easy start. Then more spicy, sharper. White pepper, fruity sweet, plum jam, raisins, red apples, strawberries. Quite a bit longer chewable.
Cinnamon comes through a little later with a light honey sweetness. There is also a slight caramel note. A great taste. The port barrel is very dominant and produces a lot. I like it.
Medium-long finish, fruity, slightly chocolatey with some bitterness. But everything is more pleasant than finish. Fits the solid overall impression.
