Amazing whisky! Despite the extremely high strength, he was able to maintain balance, lightness and freshness.
    • Nose
      91 91
Fresh meadow grasses that have just been mowed but not yet harvested. Meadow dust, apple and linden honey.
    • Taste
      93 93
Linden tea, apple syrup, linden honey, some dust and sour tones (yeast, sour apple), which are offset by fruity sweetness.
    • Finish
      90 90
Enveloping, dusty, sweet, binding receptors, quite long.

Caol Ila 1975 20YO RMS, 61.12%. Color: light golden yellow; smell: very strong pine oil, followed by citrus, vanilla, and some salty cream, fresh grass, 88 points; taste: very spicy attack, some clear notes of oranges, lemons, some grape peel, but the oaky and spicy notes come back very quickly, 88 points; aftertaste: long, vanilla, pepper, citrus, 89 points

Way too phenolic and thick. Oily, waxy, and chunky.

The flavor is simple, I can't remember anything except 61 degrees.
    • Nose
Sweet, refreshing, and the deliciousness of the ocean, presumably a mixed bucket. Cod liver oil, fried salmon belly with lemongrass, crystal honey, brown sugar, green apple fragrance, slight kerosene and peat.
    • Taste
Spicy, bourbon barrel, white wood, matcha, grapefruit peel, slightly sour, a little sweet fruit, fish oil, peat, black earth, black pepper, mint.
Good, good fat, slightly sweet, obvious sourness, no tannins, no astringency, slightly bitter, more pungent, no alcohol.
    • Finish
Long-term, matcha, grapefruit peel, plant stems and leaves.

Smell: peat is not heavy, grass, wildflowers, paint, asparagus, dirt after rain. Green apple, potion. After the cup wakes up, there are some fruits, cream, new leather, and tamarind. The smell has the sourness of new wine. It is unbelievable that, after all, the two numbers of 1975 or 20 are unexplainable. 85/100
Taste: potion, peat, reef, very significant sourness, fish oil, lemon sugar, honey, licorice. In the latter part, seafood, fruit candies, astringency, white grapefruit and grapefruit peel appear gradually 87/100
Body: very oily, heavy body, stimulating 87/100
Ending rhyme: long, clear sense of scratching, pepper, bitterness of oak, smoked fish
Overall: 86/100, balance and complexity are obviously lacking, Callira’s roundness is not strong, because the flavor is too close to the grass, lime, and green apple, the taste is too vegetarian. The restrained and astringent woody astringency in the second half is somewhat obvious.

scbp-5550, before the cup wakes up, the smell and the second half of the flavor are not pleasant, but as the cup wakes up, we are pleasantly surprised to find that the aroma has become a lot fuller, and the stimulus on the taste is obviously weaker, but unfortunately Both balance and complexity have obvious flaws. As a whisky with almost no peaty feel, he has worked very hard. 88
    • Nose
      86 86
Grass, soil, a little bit of asparagus, green dates, paint, a little green apple overall, new leather. In the aroma, it can be clearly seen that the flavor is relatively young, the vitality of the wooden barrel is not strong, and the main note is still plant oil after the cup wakes up, supplemented by green apple, grass, and the alcohol stimulation is strong. 86
    • Taste
      89 89
No peaty, but strong fruity taste, strong sour and sweet taste, honey, lemon fudge, bitter cod liver oil and ginger, the middle and late segments are slightly jerky, a little lemon, and then a lot of dense mint , Barley sugar, bitter grapefruit peel and refreshing spices. The wine is strong in the first stage, and the oily feel is full, while the power in the latter stage is slightly weaker. The overall flavor is biased towards a little cod liver oil and citrus peel oil. 89, p88b91
    • Finish
      89 89
Mint, bitter lemon peel, some tannins, astringency. 89

The picture shows the Caol Ila with The US Label - 122,2proof!
There is another one, also 750ml with 61,12% posession

"A mid-90s entry into the Rare Malts range with a 20 year old bottling

from Caol Ila. Its bottled at a big (and pedantically accurate) cask

strength of 61.12% and promises some smoky magic."
