The same sweet and fruity profile of the Glengoynes 1972 from Daily Dram and Jack Wieber.
    • Nose
Honey and vanilla. Beewax. Peach and apricot. Lemon as well. Hints of lavendel.
    • Taste
Creamy and waxy. Syrupy. Oranges and tangerines. Coconut. Butterscotch. Toffee treacle. But also light oakiness and pine.
    • Finish
Long and warm. Clove and ginger.

The nose is top, fruity, varnished wood.
In the mouth: delicious texture, it is really very waxy but the fruity promise of the nose is not kept. It was however largely ventilated.
The finish is long, without bitterness but no surprise either.

Banana apricot orange sweet spices, a real fruit salad, really drinkable

  7. sagara-kun scored this whisky 93 points Connoisseur

Simply superb, everything is in the balance.
    • Nose
Sublime nose. The fruits are present and expressive.
Banana flambé, pineapple, peach. Very light caramel. Wax. Some spices.
    • Taste
In the mouth of Haribo. Liquorice
We are mainly on fruit salad.
We oscillate between lemon, apricot, orange jam. The acidity of currant.
It is very balanced and complex.
    • Finish
In the total continuity of the mouth. Long and fruity.

Once again I preferred the nose (more complex) but it's an excellent and tasty Glengoyne 1972.
    • Nose
Fruity and waxy. Plums, apricots, oranges, candied fruits, honey. Precious wood, mint and spices (cinnamon and more). Fresh and very good.
    • Taste
Fruity, jammy, waxy and tart. Citruses, apricots, bananas, vanilla, spices. A little bit of oak.
    • Finish
Long. Drier with lingering fruits and spices.

In a blind tasting I would rather guess it's one of the Caper 72 fruit bombs or one of the recent old Speyside region releases from 73 or 75. Anyways this is one is excellent!
    • Nose
Intense fruity, honeycomb, tropical fruits incl. mango, passion fruit, pineapple, but also some peaches and apricots - very good
    • Taste
Punchy, very oily, creamy, waxy, honey, fruity, same as on the nose, peppery, coconut powder, gentle oak wood - great
    • Finish
      Medium long, warm, spicy, zesty

Very nice nose mainly on mirabelle with also other yellow fruits. Sweet attack, the medium is very fruity and we find the mirabelle nose. Finale of good length always on the fruit. No astringency hinders the experience. Would have deserved more time, a good dram.

gold color, nose with a lot of wax, apricot, tangerine, candied fruits, mirabelle, honey, noble wood, spices, in the spirit of a Caperdo 1972. Mouth quite powerful, tart, very fruity, mandarin, apricot jam ... always this side wax very noble, more spices in the end (cinnamon?). Long final, a little less noise and more spices as often on this kind of profile.

sergeColour: gold. Nose: as expected, we’re in the same style as the 1973s but this
one is a tad less ‘clean and pure” and less all on citrus fruits whilst it’s
also a little more complex and aromatically ‘wide’. Does that make sense?
Granted, all the lemony and orangey notes are well here, and so are the lightly
honeyed notes, but there are also other garden fruits such as cherries. Also
hints of tamarind jam – did you ever try that? Touches of soft spices (mulled
wine spice mix, Chinese anise, cinnamon)… With water: not much changes but no
deterioration either. Mouth (neat): excellent, fruity, jammy yet fresh, getting
then much grassier than the other ones and maybe a tad bitter. Some thyme and
unexpected notes of wasabi from the oak (a little, just a little). With water:
excellent, clean, fruity, citrusy, delicately gingery… Very easy to drink.
Finish: quite long, in the same vein. Nutmeg. Comments: very, very good and
very, very quaffable, as are (almost) all these old Glengoynes.

Glengoyne 37yo, 52%, Nectar of the Daily Drams 2010.

Nose: lovely fruity with lemon, pineapple and hints of strawberries. A little bit of mint and beautifully honeyed, fruitier, with my favorite vanilla. And with less oaky and spices! A wonderful Daily Dram with some very attractive flavours!
    Mouth: lovely oilyish and fruity.
The pineapple and honey go together with some more spices, like ginger and cloves, with some hints of oak!
Very nice whisky, this one! With some water this whisky brings coconut, dried prunes and a rather grassy aftertaste.
Finish: long, spicy with some very nice honey and vanilla. A very nice and remarkable dram!!
A "stunner"! Thank you Mr. JB!

Taste: full and sweet, mint and a little wax, some wood. Very nice!

    Finish: a little bitterness
