Young harsh peated scotch that is very similar to the new Laphroaig 10 series.
    • Nose
      70 70
Medicinal and heavy on the alcohol. Smoky charred charcoal. Burnt rubber tires, carbon monoxide direct from the exhaust. Burned cashew nuts.
    • Taste
      75 75
Medicinal bitterness. Seaweed, salt, raw ash. Some fruits? Unsure what exactly, however it's more on the herbal end. Perhaps pomegranate. Medicinal licorice.
    • Finish
      73 73
Light smoky finish. Quick whiff of smoke and it's gone.

Tasted in an online blind tasting competition (Westland vs. Penderyn) on 8/10/2016. My initial comment: "Too young to be called whisky, or a very young Glen Moray?" Clearly this is not my kind of whisky.
    • Nose
New make-ish. Barley, wax, and some sweet dough. Peat on the background.
    • Taste
Very young (not whisky yet?), but spicy, sweet (marshmellow) and buttery. Peat and smoke are there as well.
    • Finish
Some anise coming through. Peatiness lingers, together with burned rubber.

Very (too) young and rude price.
Peaty note nice but no more.
    • Nose
Tons of cereals, malted barley. a little fresh fruit. Made super young.
    • Taste
Must of malt, a light smoke and some fresh fruits
    • Finish
      Dry, malty, slightly sweet.

  7. Rom did not rate this whisky Expert Junior

Makes good green, immature, light smoke, no interest especially considering the price.

I think that's really delicious. I tasted it together with Ardbeg 10 and PC 10 Heavily Peated. When drinking awesome, first a sweet sweet and then swallowing and opening the mouth comes the smoke.
Long, smoky and sweet, he remains extremely pleasant in my memory.

Interesting whisky, pity it's a bit expensive.
    • Nose
The nose is very fruity, but a fruity "milk" a bit like a yoghurt. We have fishing, pineapple. A good dose of vanilla and a hint of smoke complete this nose. Personally I love.
    • Taste
The mouth is special, always these fruits very present but this time we have more smoke. The second wave brings woody and herbaceous notes. The least we can say is that it's out of the ordinary.
    • Finish
Final quite short, woody and always this strange fruity with retro-olfaction.

  10. Erik Elixir scored this whisky 68 points Connoisseur

N: rubber, salted cashew, peated and fruity - peach
T: candy, sweet fruits, oily, weak peat and smoke
    F: weak lingering young tones
is this the oloroso finish bottle?
