A fine example of The 1980’s production of Bowmore... despite some warnings aka meanings we opened with an open mind a new bottle.. not old ‘Bowmore -ish’ but quite a nice expression. .
Nose: Tropical fruit, some pineapple, mango mixed with some Spanish meloen. The supporting smoke brought us back to Islay, some BBQ on the beach-ish, sweet with some honey, quite some minerals.
Taste.. tropical fruits with notes of mango, banana, some floral elements but never disturbing or dominating. Older charred woodstaves , some brine..
Finish: Quite long, sweet fruits, Salt and yes, some brine.
Nice, nice, always happy with this exemple of whiskyhistory.
