Whisky Reviews for Caperdonich 1970 DT

2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 87.67 points

  1. Falnor scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

Nice old caperdonich. However it doesn`t quite reach the level of some of the 1972`s. The dryness and lesser amounts of fruit hold it back.

Although it starts nicely with pine tree`s, resin, wood, honey and dry abricots, the alcohol gives it a harsh pepery feeling. It needs some water, but it also flattens the whisky.

  2. Lafroy scored this whisky 89 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Oak with fresh resin, fresh blackberries, citrus peel notes, wood varnish, light and fresh. It´s definitely sweet and smooth with hints of poppy-seed cake.
    • Taste
It starts with aggressive sweetness, honey, powerful dryness and spiciness, eventually chili. After a few seconds it gets back to dryness and cake with intensive alcohol.
    • Finish
Soft medium-long finish with notes of sponge cake and alcohol.
