Whisky Reviews for Longmorn 2008 MBl

- A total disappointment: flat, oaky and bitterish whisky without any complexity or peasant sides. Probably it failed due to the unsuccessful selection of the cask. Not recommended for purchase especially for the asked price.
Tad spirituous, green apples, sour orchard berries (red currants), rhubarb, dusty barley, chalky notes, wet wood, lemon zest. Water doesn’t make a noticeable influence on the nose.
Rather peppery, with a good dose of oaky bitterness, malty, tad chalky. With water it gets sweeter, with lemons and apple mash notes, some nutmeg and porridge.
Short, bitterish, malty, oaky, with notes of horseradish and apple seeds.
- Unfortunately, the oppressive sweetness whitewashes many other possible taste nuances, the alcohol is very well integrated so that is a very dangerous dram that is only too easy to sniff away.
Fresh green fruits, apples, pears, somewhat herbaceous, very round and elegant.
Super sweet, not at all sherry-typical, cinnamon and ginger just penetrate the waves of sweetness.
Relatively long but extremely under-complex, except for the sweetness and the long-lasting warmth is unfortunately not very much.
- Short finish, but quite delicious.
