    The spicy & dry profile of this whisky usually does not meet the expectations of those who expect a stronger sweetness and fruit in the whisky. In this respect, the ratings of these whiskys usually run a few levels lower than those from the Deep, Rich & Dried Fruits or Juicy, Oak & Vanilla profiles.
    Depending on the form of the day, if I don't feel like something sweeter, I like the spicy and dry drams very much, and they can also be combined well with food.
    Again a Blair Athol, which is similar in price to the Flora & Fauna bottling and is the same age but has significantly different flavors.

    SMWS notes:

    A subtle yet definite old school edge at first nosing. Canvas, snapped match sticks, yellow flowers, sourdough bread, pink candy floss, sunflower oil and new leather handbag. Some savoury plain cereals, hand lotion and touches of orange flower and honey suckle. Water brings key lime pie sweetness, lemon oils, hessian, nettle tea, peach yoghurt and citrus jelly fruits. A deft and elegant sweetness abounds. In the mouth there's toasted pine kernels, peach stones, dried apricot, barley water and warm miso broth. A rather savoury and umami opening. Then develops further notes of lime leaf, chalk, baking soda and mint tea. Some seed mix with orange peel and toasted almond flakes. With water we find earthy turmeric, spearmint, bracken, paraffin and a rather saline touch with dried tarragon and medical ointments.
