very tasty dessert dram 7/10 ... notes in progress
    • Nose
certainly rum-like (bajan rum), which is absolutely welcome. very creamy, rather sweet -- creme anglais, white chocolate, mini eggs (totally the easter suggestion, but yeah). then some spices, ginger, nutmeg, and a bit of white hot metal.
    • Taste
really custardy up front, egg-custard tart, grain rich, white sugar sweetness, white chocolate, mini eggs. long finish with a more nutmeg and cream. easy sipper, ideal maturity in my view, I like the "youthful" bite it still has. certainly sweet, so it's a "mood" dram no doubt, but great for pairing and surely a crowd pleaser.

  2. Whisky-Connaisseur did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

This is an excellent single grain whisky for the sweet tooth. Lots of vanilla, toffee, caramel and fine fruit notes, accompanied by milk chocolate and subtle oak spice on the palate, leading to a short finish, typical for grain whisky. A dignified Easter Edition that goes perfectly with the Easter chocolate bunny.

I thank Douglas Laing for the complimentary sample!

    • Nose
Instant sweetness on the nose with vanilla sauce, toffee, butterscotch and brown sugar. Delightful notes of sponge cake, cereal biscuits and fruity nuances of mirabelle and apricot, with a hint of oak spice in the background.
    • Taste
Deliciously sweet on the palate with vanilla pudding, toffee, butterscotch, caramel and sweet cereal notes. Pleasantly warming with a little alcoholic spiciness, followed by ginger and some oak spice. Milk chocolate with a tendency to slightly dry cocoa towards the finish.
    • Finish
The finish is relatively short, warming and creamy sweet with vanilla, caramel, some oak wood and a slightly bitter espresso note.

With water: After adding a few drops of water, this single grain becomes more lively on the nose with a little less sweetness but more cocoa notes. Tingly on the tongue with oak spice, milk chocolate and cocoa. The sweet notes are somewhat pushed into the background. The finish is short to medium length, creamy with notes of coffee and espresso.

    • Nose

Freshly cut wood, green apples, a small hint of popcorn and some weird sour notes of pickled cucumbers.
    • Taste
      85 85
Quite spicy peppernotes on the tongue. Vanilla sweetness afterwards. Getting drier.
    • Finish
      84 84
Notes of popcorn and vanilla fudge. Slightly getting a wee bit bitter. A bit flat in total.
