As an independent bottler you have to have the courage to bottle a single grain with only 6 years.
A really great nose: vanilla, caramel fudge, raisins (not fruity like sherry, but rather in the direction of rum raisins). That must have been an excellent bourbon barrel (or strong wine?) With the color and fullness of flavors after 6 years. It's really fun to smell the whiskey!
Sweet, creamy, again the vanilla. You can taste the sweetness of the grain. Even with 52% beautiful, round, and not metallic alcoholic.
Rather short, but the sweetness stays in your mouth for a while.
Compared to young Grains (10-14) from Signatory, or the Old Particular Range from DL, this Girvan appears to have matured despite its 6 years. A nice summer whiskey for the warmer days.
