Whisky Reviews for Ballechin 10-year-old
4 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 80.85 points
- Ballechin Heavily Peated 10yo natural colour unchillfiltered 46%. Aroma is papery, woodchip oak, lightest pineapple ang ginger notes but mostly spirit and oak. Taste is bitter, some coal gas and burnt wood, it's a little rough around the edges for sure, dirty and slightly muddled but yes there's peat and oak. Slightest medicinal note ... it's a touch rough but ok. Reminds me a bit of Talisker, so may be worth trying for people who enjoy that profile. 3.2/77

Great malt with an unusual, meaty smoke.
First smoldering smoke with citrus fruits, with smoked ham. Mandarins, vanilla and a slight bitterness.
Oily and slightly sweet, then stronger and spicier with caramel and dried apricots.
Some phenolic smoke, spicy pepper, smoked meat, later mineral notes.
