7 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.27 points
- overall a very smooth, mellow and mature single malt that is easy to drink and only show's weakness on th palate
very delicate; slight sweetness; citrus notes; lemon; lime; tangerine; apples; pears; peach; dried fruits in the backround; slight spices; hints of oak; overall a good, complex and mellow nose
very mild/mellow; sweet barley; slight vanilla; (dryed) fruits; nuts; after some time more exotic flavors like coconut; very smooth and mellow although the lack of %vol is noticable
oak; spices more dominant; hints of chocolate; sweetness in the backround; (bitter) friuts; hints of coffee; nuts; surprisingly intense and long finish
- Glenmorangie "The Original" 10 years, 40% alc. original bottling
Expansion: Ex-Bourbon barrels
Region: Highlands, Scotland Nose: First of all a lot of fruits, including apples, gooseberries and apricots. These are included in vanilla and sweet honey. A light malting note floats quite far away. Overall, the nose is rather mild and restrained. ... Palate: Similar to the nose, quite creamy in character. Again, the fruits with a lot of vanilla, but also a light floral perfume notes on, then cotton candy and honey. Finish: Medium long, next to the fruits and vanilla, some wood comes into play, as well as a hint of candied ginger. Conclusion: Mild, simple, meets many tastes and should probably. 80/100 points (tasted 2015 - approx. 35 €)
Thanks to Moet Hennessy for the rehearsal
Vanilla, toffee, honey forms the base with hints of ripe juicy fruits such as apples, pears and berries. Tightening and several flavors of almonds, citrus and caramel are also to observe.
Soft and creamy exchanging sweet and spicy off. Ingredients like ginger, nutmeg, caramel, raisins and sugar are clearly over with hints of almonds and cloves.
Long aftertaste of apple cider, fruit and pepper
- The golden Glenmorangie arouses curiosity, a whisky that has placed the bar high for the competition. Has for at least 10 years aged in American oak from the forests of the Ozark Mountains, Missouri, owned by the distillery itself
- A classic!
