It's milder than I thought, and there's a slightly spicy flavor and a bit of soft plum flavor.

Nose - toffee apples, lovely, kinda what you'd expect

Palate - quite high abv feeling even though only 47%. Plenty of the calvados characters coming through, apples and honey and definite caramel.

    Finish much the same

Not overly complex or long finish or would've scored higher as say cask strength

    Color: Gold with green reflections.
Nose: Gourmet and complex. Subtle blend of fruity (apple), vanilla, honey (acacia) and finely herbaceous (sage, verbena) notes, the first nose is a model of balance. Deep, it evolves with notes of applesauce and baked apples. It should be noted that the perfectly integrated wood brings many spices including ginger and cinnamon.
Palate: At the same time smooth and lively, the attack on the palate restores the decimal point of all the nuances of the aromatic palette. Remarkably malty, the mid-palate shows remarkable freshness of expression. Gradually, the taste palette becomes more and more exotic (pineapple, lychee, kiwi) while acacia honey spreads all around the palate.
Finish: Long and delicious. Very finely saline, the start of the finish takes us irreparably towards herbaceous regions (cut hay) and malted whose tannins delicately shrink the taste buds. In the aftertaste, infusion notes (rosemary, mint, linden) add a floral dimension. The empty glass is empyreumatic (oak, cypress, pine).

    ¥2500 / shot at Yakumiya.

Appearance: Straw colored, oily. Lighter than expected.

Nose: Apple, caramel, honey, cinnamon, pepper, booze, oak, cookies. Subtler than expected but nice.

Palate: Apple / Calvados, peppery heat, honey, oak, biscuits, cinnamon. Not bad but lighter and thiner than I hoped for.

Finish: Peppery, hot, spicy, hot spiced apple toddy, cinnamon, a bit harsh.

With Water: A bit less heat but already too thin.

Overall: The nose is nice enough, the rest somewhat disappointing. No way this is worth ¥15000 a bottle, and not nearly as nice as the Yoichi version. Just too light and hot and thin.
