Glendronach 1993 Cask 8933. With the current 27 reviews (average 92 points) I was curious about this bottle. Anyone expecting a sherry monster like Cask 660 will be disappointed here. There is no sherry wall here that covers everything else. The focus here is on the fruity notes. The alcohol is quite present at the beginning, but blends in well with the fruity-spicy overall picture. A complex, well-matured Glendronach that was a real snapper at the special price of the equivalent of 280 euros. Good who has one or two. Almost 92 points from me and thumbs up! :)
    • Nose
The Glendronach lies oily in the glass and medium-dark mahogany inspires in warm nuances. The alcohol is quite present at the beginning, but wonderful sherry aromas come through very quickly. Now not so very old wood and leather or cigar box, no, more the fruity notes like dark plums, dates and apricots, blueberries. Behind it, notes of almonds and nuts flash as well as a hint of coffee. The longer he breathes, the better he gets.
    • Taste
The Glendronach pushes properly on the tongue, the 57.2% are noticeable at first, but the volume percentage drops very quickly and a massive flow of saliva is noticeable. Now dark plums, blueberries and apricots come through again. These seem to have a touch of cinnamon. Very fruity, very voluminous. Cigar box, old leather still nil. With the second sip, a little more spices like ginger and pepper come through. However, the spices never have the upper hand and the sweetness comes out victorious here.
    • Finish
The 1993 Cask 8933 stays in the mouth for a long time. Initially, the sweet notes still dominate, only gradually the mouth becomes drier, the tongue seems to stick to the palate. In between you might think you had a sweet cognac in your glass. Very balanced, very pleasing, very long, very beautiful.

Good PX sherry cask maturation with lots of fruity, sweet touches and an astonishing number of parallels to the younger standard bottlings (12 and 15 years) or the 25 year old Master Vintage

    Too good to be true.

Expensive (over 1000 pounds) but worth
