I still really like it after the second attempt.
    • Nose
Sweet and fruity. Very ripe banana. Buttery. Fine acidity. Some tobacco. Roasted oak. A touch of cinnamon. Mild and very flattering impression.
    • Taste
Great oily viscosity. Powerful kick on the tongue. Intense toasted aromas of bread and burnt sugar.
Pleasantly dry on the palate. Some sweet red fruits
    • Finish
      Very long. Toast. Oak. Cinnamon.

Quick Notes: Sweet, tasty, mild and very tasty!
I will write more detailed notes when I get the chance.

Gate number 6 of my Tastillery advent calendar. I am very enthusiastic about his age of 15 months. Reminds me of a mixture of a good bourbon and a fruity redbreast. Full and intense. Very round and strong. But needs a lot of attention. I'll definitely buy the bottle.
    • Nose
      88 88
very intense (spicy), fruity, unripe banana, light honey, very light vanilla, light rumcharkater (cane sugar), sweet, in the background comes the pear, tree resin, wood polish
    • Taste
      89 89
really sweet, pastries (reminiscent of gingerbread and tree cakes), light vanilla, light nuttiness, spicy, honey, fruity (mostly banana and some raisins)
    • Finish
      86 86
medium-long, some oak, malty, sweetness clearly decreases in taste, spicy and still a little fruity

I had it in a blind tasting. A pungent, bubbly smell hangs over everything. Reminiscent of cheap grappa. After a long period of use, it evaporates a little, but not much is revealed below.
In terms of taste, there is this pungent alcohol again.
The only good thing is the strong finish, which doesn't compete with good bourbons either.

I don't understand the hype about balcones. However, someone next to me said this was the best American whiskey he had ever tried. He bought the rest of the bottle.

    He probably polarizes.

Very happy with this. Incredibly good spirit that harmonises well with the cask.
    • Nose
Peaches and dried dates with a whiff of raisins, but also some chalk, quinces, candy hearts and butterscotch. A light floral touch too. Wait, some chocolate peanuts as well. And brown sugar! Rather delicious indeed.
    • Taste
Somewhat dry and tangy and it lacks a little depth comparative to the nose. Still not too shabby though. Slightly burnished, some rye bread and Maraschino cherries. A touch of bitter orange as well.
    • Finish
A whiff of charred oak, some aniseed and spices, mainly cracked black peppercorns. Lingering notes of honey.
