This youngster was a sample from karloff, and it shows that there can be quality in young grains too.
I would not have been disappointed if I had bought this bottle.
This is very nice. Not much if any of the grainy spirit often found in young single grain.
Light sweet vanilla. Fresh baked wheat buns. Hint of caramel.
Everything very light and fresh.
With some time in the glass I get some gentle charred wood.
Almost oily mouthfeel.
A lot more spicy punch than indicated by the nose.
Sweet yellow fruits.
A little wood, a little fudge turning towards coffee, but it's all on the light side.
All in all a little simple but what's there is good, and absolutely no off-notes or anything unpleasant.
About medium with everything just fading without making a fuzz. Mostly on the sweet side with an ever so slightly drying wood at the very end.
