    Somehow I knew from the start how that would turn out. I didn't want to approach these Notes negatively from the outset. So I stay neutral and factual with this hype bottle. Still, a small "but" in advance: I'll keep it short. An expected "different" smoke note. My bottle code 19/456
    • Nose
      An overall maritime impression with a distinctly different smoke that is to be expected, along with fine spicy notes. However, it remains one-dimensional. But according to its name, I think a good nose. The recognition value is certainly very high. As the fans say: "... just a jumper".
    • Taste
      He is strong and intense in the beginning, which is what makes him. But in my opinion not balanced enough for the 15 years. There are better 15s out there. It provides a spicy sweetness and a peppery texture. Certainly a good malt.
    • Finish
      Already in the transition this dirty, earthy, spicy, salty note comes through, which I don't like at all in the form. Some might even call it a miss grade. It certainly has a unique selling point and is loved or avoided for it. In any case, those who like him are in the majority. I'm aware. I respect that. Thanks for the sample. But it doesn't make it onto my shelf. I have better ideas there.

    This is a dirty, spicy, smoky combo of strong nose, strong taste and I like it! Give this a drop of water and time in glass and it keeps developing and evolving for a long time.

      Salty, sweet, dark honey, sherried, light peatiness, clay pottery, earthen floor cellar, dry minerality, spices, dark chocolate, slightly resinous a drop of water bring front fruity notes, stewed pears.
    • Taste
      90 90
      Strong arrival on taste. Like condensated "whiskiness",salty, spicy, slightly sour, ginger, soft peat in the background. With a drop of water it becomes even more spicy, pink peppercorn, smokiness gets much stronger.
    • Finish
      89 89
      Keeps going for ages. Musty, earthy notes, then again some smoke lingers before it fades away to sweetness.

    The most remarkable thing about the Springbank spirit is that it cannot be bullied after even fifteen years in a sherry cask. Stand aside berries, vinaigrette and slightly sour wood. The main course is umami goodness, muscles in a salted broth, as well as an immense citric tang. I'm not a sherry guy, so I find the 10 far more enjoyable, both organoleptically and financially. That being said, this is really good.

    How can a malt be so bourbon-fruity and playful, but also sherry-stern and staring into the mirror of its own complexity, at the same time?

    Appearance: Medium amber, deeper than the 10 or 12. Leggier too.

    Nose: Deep, rich stone fruits, apricot dried apricot, melon, big vanilla, banana, oak, cookies, caramel, melon, raisin, cinnamon, cardamum, smoke is lighter.

    Palate: Salty, smoky, rich, rich malt, oak, cinnamon, vanilla, brown sugar, caramel.

    Finish: Peppery, spicy, dry and woody, light smoke, even lighter sweetness. A bit austere, but long.

    With Water: More smoke in the nose. More malty sweetness on the palate. Spices become less astringent.

    Overall: Obviously more mature than the 12, but lacking in the huge body that the cask strength gave it. Of course, this still has more than enough body. Another fabulous whisky but over $100 here.

The smell is gradually sweet, honey butter cake, half-cooked cheese. Nose runs through the brackish sea breeze, barnacles, and rich wheat flavor Palate: the entrance is clear mineral water, sweet bamboo green, jade, bitter and salty with a little sea water, limestone, weak smoked bacon, peat Not heavy. Then came the cucumber wipes, honey melon + Qingti iced soda to refresh people's heart and spleen. Swallowed before and after bursting with rich milky, wheat and fat powder, semi-cooked cheese, coconut meat. Intertwined with sweet and sweet, rich and coordinated.

    Overall: Wenxiang is not as aggressive and impactful as 12 but matured and more coordinated and gentle. It is speculated that the bourbon barrels account for a relatively large amount. The refreshing and sweet honeydew melons and green grapes are fascinating, and they taste as clean and elegant as batch 18.
