    Color: honey-mustard
Decent bourbon, the best I've tasted. But I guess the best bourbon is yet to come.
The good thing about bourbons is that they open up beautifully in the air, they sweetly present their owner, turning into sweet corn nectar.
    No off-notes were noticed.
    N: 20 T: 21 F: 22 B: 20
    • Nose
Brightest grain tones, vanilla, sweet corn, some menthol
    • Taste
At first, it is overly alcoholic and prickly, sweetish-spicy, bitter-menthol, vanilla, all the same grain tones.
The sweetness of honey corn is revealed in the air.
    • Finish
      Tart bitter with vanilla color

Great bourbon that perfectly meets the balance between sweetness and spice.

Yesterday there was the last sip from the bottle. The Knob Creek 9 is a very successful bourbon with the classic notes and enough alcohol. Shortly after opening, the KC9 still has a rather alcoholic note, which, however, at the latest after half of the bottle thanks to oxidation gains. In my view, with the Four Roses Single Barrel and EC12 one of the best standards. Too bad that the production of the KC9 was stopped or replaced by a NAS product. Clear purchase recommendation!

Very compelx concerning the nose. A bit sharp on the palate.

    Concerning price/performance ratio: 9/10
    • Nose
Vanilla, bourbon, sweet burned sugar (almost some sherrynotes), pickled vegetables, maple wood, menthol in the mix with some honey, orange scale, cardamom, dried fruits.
    • Taste
Sweet herbs in the mix with some honey, again some menthol, caramel, bourbon.
    • Finish
      Long (surprisingly). Honey, herbs, spices.

Rough, young and cheerful. Good value.
    • Nose
Tons of wood, acetone, slightly artificial sweetness of vanilla and sugar cane.
    • Taste
Same as the nose, sweetness of vanilla and sugar, handful of spices and a few wooden planks freshly covered with varnish.
    • Finish
Medium length, wood dominates here and the spices coat the mouth.

A very decent bourbon for a quite reasonable price
    • Nose
Caramel, cinamon, dark chocolate and cloves.
    • Taste
Powerfull, but a little alcoholic. Cinamon and clove. Hints of vanilla and grass. A bit medicinal in a way.
    • Finish
Not extremely long, mainly on caramel and medicinal herbs notes.

Again a bourbon that is absolutely nothing for me. 4
    • Nose
      A decent adhesive note.
    • Taste
Slightly sprightly, overly woody and a hint of vanilla.
    • Finish
Long, warm and a bit bitter.

Overall a very smooth bourbon after watering it down a bit. Use as much water in order to be able to comfortably "chew" on it for about 15 seconds. The spices give way to a fantastic candied almond taste that can linger on the back of the palate for quite some time. 82/100
    • Nose
Spicey nose with allspice, cinnemon, nutmeg and clove with a bit of brown sugar and sweet corn.
    • Taste
Very smooth for a higher ABV, definitely can use some water to cool it off before enjoying. The alcohol can be a bit overpowering and you can't really enjoy the true taste. A continued light body with sweet spices and caramel.
    • Finish
Long lasting finish from the high proof. Sugar, marzipan, allspice, oakspice, clove all tied together with a sweet corn taste.

The 50% contribute to the much-sung start; Personally, I do not rate this drop as well as, for example, JM. Scaling Bourbons and Single Malts in the same scheme is a bit of a hassle anyway.
    • Nose
very light, bourbon-typical glue, pungent menthol, bitten apple kernels, a little vanilla
    • Taste
plump, honey-like with many herbs and some bitter, peppery cinnamon flavor
    • Finish
Pepper, cinnamon stick. lightly burnt caramel; Apple kernels and oak waving from the background

  20. Igor scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

    • Nose
Rather enticing, profound. Sugary, dried fruits, canned peaches, pickled vegetable marrow, freshly-salted cucumbers, a woodshed full of chopped firewood, or workshop's floor littered with wood shavings.
    • Taste
Thick, intense, full-bodied. A real, genuine flavourful bourbon. Rich honey sweetness, gingerbread, nutmeg, cinnamon bark, caramelised (baked) apples, allspice?, cloves, apricots, paprika.
    • Finish
Sherbet fizz, still rather sweet, and slightly mentholated too. Citrus, sugared cranberries, fruit fudge, brewed pekoe tea, and lastly just a hint of ointment.

Notwithstanding that bitter end, I had the first bourbon of more than 80 points, so we rated our rating at a level of 80b, which is still something to me that should be gold-plated in stone. He surpassed even the famous Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon, which I once put a lot of before tasting.
    • Nose
Although bourbon, I have to admit it smells. Cocoa, cinnamon, cinnamon, chocolate, peel of almond almonds.
    • Taste
Oranges, sweet spices, though clearly bourbon, but in a pleasant and tolerable form. Only that spoil is a bit spoiled, it is cinnamon first, but at the end it turns into bitterness.

Up to now the best bourbon i have ever tasted
    • Nose
      Wonderfull, chocolate honey and vanilla
    • Taste
So thick you can almost chew it. Nutty with spices
    • Finish
Longer than a frait train. I remember laying in bed at four in the morning and still been able to taste it off the night before
