Those essential oils in the nose had something ...
    • Nose
Notes from an online blind tasting.

      Colour:
      gold

      Nose:
Starts with a dry smoke. Then very greasy and musty. Smoked ham and some iodine. Essential oils and plasters. Limestone and damp sand. A slight note of salt, in the form of sweat. Appearances of asphalt. An unripe, light fruit aroma joins it. And worn leather. Slightly metallic.
    • Taste
Spicy, dry start. Cold cigarette smoke. The alcohol prevails. Hints of pineapple. Ahoy shower woodruff and a little salty rose hips.
Like when you breathe in in a coniferous forest. In addition, chainsaw exhaust. A metallic undertone comes through.
    • Finish
Medium length. Dry. Asphalt. Very mineral and somewhat metallic.

A nice teaspooned malt (Laphroaig) at a great price. For me with a clearly recognizable profile of the distillery not officially named. Young but expressive, that's how I like an Isaly Malt! Edit: pretty medical and with clear corners and edges, still ok!
    • Nose
      88 88
Powerful, greasy smoke, decent sweetness of berry fruits and salted oranges, clearly maritime accents, iodine, tape, disinfectant (COV-19) and with an all-round medical note. Sun-dried herbs reinforce the thoroughly original character. No or hardly any sulfur.
    • Taste
      87 87
Really sweet at the beginning and especially strong salty and full of medicinal notes. Everything is there: iodine, tape, disinfectant, pure alcohol and some oranges again - but more abrasion of the skin than the fruit itself. A little bit, tannins. Dry, full of herbs (mint, fighter) and wood notes. Intense with a lot of character but not necessarily impetuously. Clearly medical and with a clear island profile.
    • Finish
      87 87
Dry, medical and maritime. Tannins. All sorts of dried herbs and less sweet or greasy.
