    Good modern sherried Highland Park.
    • Nose
      Dried fruits, creme brulee, caramel and toffee.
    • Taste
      Ripe forest fruits and slightly salty,chutney, apricot jam, spicy oak, dark chocolate.
    • Finish
      Medium finish with dark chocolate and sea spray.

    • Nose
      Oatmeal cookies with dark chocolate and a scoop of cream ice cream. Right next to it, roasted coffee beans, bitter walnut peel and cocoa. I associate this aroma with cappuccino-flavored wafers. A handful of raisins and maybe something floral? On the other hand, lemon and orange juices are starting to dominate. After spinning the glass, coffee and vanilla come back to life. If we wanted to capture its aroma in two words: cocoa and oranges. Wonderful aroma.
    • Taste
      sweet, caramel, waxy, a lot of vanilla, cocoa and chocolate. Oak with blackcurrant, orange and dried chilli flakes. Something floral and malt. Very intense flavor, but spicy, even burning.
      With water: sweeter, more vanilla, caramel, chocolate and citrus. Chilli and oak are retreating.
    • Finish
      sweet and coffee. Lots of licorice, roasted barley, dark chocolate, blackberries and charred oak. Coffee and chocolate finish, spicy, with spices and a touch of tannins. Long and warming.

    Really interesting to compare to the Sweden bottling from 2005. Still doesn't reach the sky, but this one was much better.

    • Nose
      89 89
      Fresh apple juice, Vanilla, dried herbs, plenty of dried fruits, toffee, raisins, dates, figs, honey, wood spices, light leather and tobacco, sweet peppermint, very light furniture polish. After tasting clear notes of Dutch Stroopkoekjes.
    • Taste
      86 86
      Powerful alcohol, nice peppery warmth, not too sweet, but some light toffee, plenty of dried fruits, dried apricot, banana chips, barley, and a good dose of oak. A bit too dry. Second chew brings more caramel, but still not much. A bit of smoked herring joins in with black pepper and salt. Third chew brings yet more toffee, but also some blackcurrant, cherry jam, leather, cigar box, and dried thyme.
    • Finish
      88 88
      Warm, peppery, lots of oaky spices, not so much sweetness, just ahint of toffee, but no sugar. Light dried fruits, banana chips, blackcurrant, dried herbs, vanilla, and salt.

    A very good sherried whisky from Highland Park.

    Smell: Sherry, vanilla, fresh fruit, a little touch of citrus, and a scent of hay and malt.

    Taste: Sherry, fresh oak, fresh fruit, candied almonds, dried apricot and honey.

    Finish: Butter cake, a little peat, rubber, hickory and a nice sweet aftertaste of raisin and dried apricot.
    Balanced and complex.
    The ABV is high (63,9%), so be observant, need some water
    to balance and open up.

    Most likely the best twelve year old whisky I have ever tasted.
