Not the easy blend, I expected. This is not a beginners dram. You have to handle the grain inside. If you manage it, you will get a smooth, fruity and nearly sweet blend.
    • Nose
      85 85
Red fruits, caramel , soft to the nose, easy
    • Taste
      74 74
At first red fruits, then a lot of grain (bitter, dry), then caramel. In my opinion, there could be less grain
    • Finish
      77 77
Suprisingly long, the grain disappears and the caramel stays

    From a blind sample.
Apart of the acidic note on the nose, the nose is very pleasent and promising but the taste fails to deliver and the finish is missing.
    • Nose
      78 78
Acidity, malty, green apples, pears, peaches, citrus peels (mostly lemon and grapefruit), a bit of varnish, salted caramel, milk chocolate.
The acidity drags down the grade here.
    • Taste
      50 50
Very thin, takes lots of chewing to decipher any notes. A bit of apples and walnuts.
    • Finish
      20 20
      Barley noticeable.

The nose looks relatively reserved at first, but opens up over time and becomes slightly fruity with creamy chocolate and toffee. The taste is extremely mild and creamy on the tongue, the aftertaste disappoints me a bit, although the subtle spiciness somehow has its charm. Unspectacular, but very drinkable and an excellent PLV. I am also pleasantly surprised!

    • Nose
Light, slightly reddish amber shimmers in the glass, an oily streak sticks to the glass wall of my Premium Snifter. Roasted hazelnuts rise, raisins and cherries subtly come into their own, mirabelle plums and apricots play with each other, a touch of salted caramel ends in hard toffee and cream candy. Pears and light milk chocolate, the fruit aroma is rather shy and reserved.
    • Taste
Extremely mild, the first sip flows creamy over the tongue. Milk chocolate, dissolved cream candy, caramel and toffee with a slight salty note, minimally spicy wood tones, yellow fruits (it could be apricots and pears), a hint of mushy banana with a barely noticeable smoky note. Slightly bitter and tart, citrus fruits? However, it could also be a little hot ginger ...
    • Finish
Briefly with a mixture of subtle heat, yellow fruits and a light pinch of salt. Minimal hazelnuts and spicy wood, the aftertaste quickly fades and leaves a hint of spiciness on the tongue.
