Superb. These glengoyne 72 and 73 are truly racing animals.
One of the best I have tasted. I could just dream of a little more power in the mouth.
    • Nose
      94 94
The nose is very enticing. It is very soft, as if you had to lift a veil to approach it.
      A fruity and sweet sweetness.
Strawberry ice cream, mango, papaya, pineapple, passion fruit, kiwi. The exotic is very chiselled and sublime.
      Currant soaked in rum, plums.
      White chocolate. Banana haribo candies.
And of course all wrapped in a medical loop to soften all these fruits.
    • Taste
      93 93
In the mouth we are directly following the nose.
      What fruit!
Kiwi, passion fruit, mango, apricot, papaya, peach, plum.
      Camphor, peppermint.
      Light liquorice. Toffee, vanilla.
Milk chocolate more than white this time.
    • Finish
      92 92
Sweet finish on peppermint and fruit juice. Pineapple.
Light woody and very light astringency.

Nose: Old and mature, full, lots of fruit (mango, peach, pineapple, citrus and various red fruit), vanilla, subtle wood, spices, hint of wax, hint of licorice, some distant mint. Delicious, an evening program!
Taste: Fruit bomb! Mouth filling, sweetened soft, lingers in the back of the throat, very slightly spicy. The entire range of fruit from the nose is present, even a subtle hint of wax.
Finish: Fruit, fruit and more fruit with little vanilla. Medium to long.Score: 90

  4. MrRancho scored this whisky 92 points Expert Senior

Citrus, fruity, soapy - an experience! Blind tasting.
    • Nose
Old carpet, glue, including lychee and rose, then something sweet, but no honey, lemon, red and green apples, some white wine (late vintage), vanilla pudding, milk chocolate.
    • Taste
Boom! That's a mouth full of flavors! And strong but not burning alcohol. What else? Kernel soap, lemon, sweet kumquat, cherry, bitter wood. Very palatial!
    • Finish
I can not stop chewing ... is that whisky chewing gum ?! Sweet, some wood, Rooibos.

sergeColour: gold. Nose: typical, that is to say very beautiful, all on citrus fruits
at first nosing. Grapefruits, tangerines and kumquats, then more on sultanas and
just wee hints of tinned litchis and finally passion fruits. Does little but
does it exceptionally well! Nearly a fruitbomb (although I do get hints of
beeswax and paraffin after a while). Mouth: very much in line with the nose, the
descriptors being more or less the same. Enough said, this is excellent. Finish:
ditto! It’s not that often that a malt whisky displays exactly the same notes on
the nose, on the palate and in the finish. Just wee hints of pepper and vanilla
in the aftertaste. Comments: this one is superbly citrusy but let me issue a
    warning: it’s extremely drinkable.
