The whisky is not bad per se, but I wasn't even sure whether it was whisky at all when blind tasting. At least that it is not a Scot, I was quickly aware of that. In terms of taste, I would also have preferred a first fill Oloroso or something like that, as it is fairly loaded and yet very sweet. So more towards dates, raisins, dried fruits. I had less caramel. Nevertheless, a whisky that you can have tried well. However, I would recommend a little water, so it will be a little more sweet and velvety.

This whisky was "pushed in" as a blind sample, presumably because I am very ... biased against German whiskys.
The alligator convinced me. The smell and taste are largely the same, the finish is long and pleasant. The alcohol does not bite, but it does bring some sharpness and is a bit too dominant, but is surprisingly well integrated for the specified age of 5 years.

With a little water, it won't get more complex, but it will be milder and sweeter. Overall, a really successful bottling.

    Blind touch

fresh tree sap, lots of vanilla, freshly sawn boards made of green wood, light virgine oak tones, orange, cherry jam, juniper, allspice, fresh laurel, fir resin, gingerbread spices with more air, wax, furniture polish, some autumn leaves, a lot of mineral in the nose - the Nose is pretty tasty - nice and round
    • Taste
      87 87
Raspberry effervescent powder, KirschPullMoll, blackberry jam, wax, quite tart essential Christmas bakery, herb / spice notes, menthol, eucalyptus, Burgol Schuhcreme, a bit dry - I like the aromas very much, the finish is a bit short with small sips, larger sips are nice intensive

first association says bourbon, vanilla, glue, plum, cinnamon, reminds me of a nice plum sheet cake, very sweet, reminds me a bit of GlenAllachie, creme brulee, caramel, possibly a bit of dark chocolate mousse, oak spice is a bit there, but more subtle
    • Taste

delicious dry, badly formulated dusty and furry, dark chocolate, sweet, cinnamon, plum, oak spice, also a light nuttiness, nut nougat

It's amazing what the Virgin Cask and the Alligator Char do with the still young whisky ... Interesting, but the gentle depth is missing. All in all very impetuous.
    • Nose
First, vanilla, biscuit and mash aromas blur in a creamy malt sweetness. Slightly sugary lemon and light berries appear after grassy, dry hay flowers. There is a slight adhesive note that is reminiscent of Tennessee whisky.
    • Taste
Very sweet and hot in the mouth due to its young age. Vanilla and dried fruits meet oak spices from lightly burnt charcoal.
    • Finish
The finish is creamy and spicy like hay schnapps, with a little milk chocolate with hazelnuts.

Nothing for a large bottle for me, but it was an interesting sample. It was fun to try it.
    • Nose
Liquorice. Chocolate. Tobacco. Stomach bread. Also somehow certain grades of a grain. Add a little lemon detergent. Hinted incense. Spices and herbs. Dry tree bark with moss.
    • Taste
The wood wort is not hidden and has good strength. Pepper. Then creamier. Darkened caramel. Herber forest honey. Cowardly. Nut cake. Also something like after eight.
    • Finish
The wood still tingles in the finish. Milk coffee. Toasted nuts. It's getting drier.
