A crowning conclusion - what do we have here? Aberlour? Clearly resembles an A'Bunadh.

Wow. What a PX nose. Toffee, vanilla, latte macchiato
    • Taste
      89 89
Leather, raisins, sulphurized apricots, pepper. Alcohol is very important.
    • Finish
      89 89
Laaaaaang, leathery, some liquorice. Great whisky

I can't really make friends with the whisky. There is too much sulfur and that doesn't match Speyside.

    I think it's a milton duff.

If you like PX, you will get your money's worth here.
Otherwise, too much sherry overloaded and hit it.
Unfortunately there is not much more of the whisky to be heard and rather one-dimensional.

      Lemon and alcohol first.
Then come plums, coffee, plums, dark forest honey, nutmeg and a lot, too much lovage.
It reminds me strongly of the bitter mountain of stomach.
    • Taste
      85 85
The dark honey surprisingly spreads its sweetness.
      That fits well.
Otherwise, the plums, coffee and lovage notes remain.
      Dried dates are added.
    • Finish
      82 82
      Dry and a little sweet.
Dates, dark honey and lovage also dominate here.

    • Nose
      87 87
a heavy, intense, sweet-spicy and syrupy scent of dried fruit: figs, dates and raisins (some of them slightly sulphurized).
+ H2O: a little less brute than before with a syrup-like sweetness, dried fruit, intense and engaging, requires salivation. :)
    • Taste
      87 87
has power, the previous impressions are reflected in the taste.
Warm, tons of dried fruit flavors, sherry, sweet and spicy, a bit tart for a moment, oak, a hint of honey and spices.
    • Finish
      88 88
initially delicately tart with oak, spices, dried fruit, then slightly sweet. Long fades with dried fruit.

The high alcohol content theoretically offers plenty of scope to experiment with a little water, but it does not change the taste of the whisky.

A little one-dimensional but not bad.
