What a privilege to be able to taste such an artisanal and honest product. To know where the barley grew, when it was distilled, etc.
It brings sensations so different from other whiskys that it is difficult to give a rating. Some could give a 65, others a 98.
I am won over by this "natural" approach and by the result.

I do not recommend adding water. If it reveals some very slightly smoky notes in the mouth, you lose intensity in the nose and in the finish.

This whisky is the Rolls Royce of the Lowlands. It makes this region shine as it deserves.

Without hesitation: coconut. Not the milk, but the smell that escapes from the nut in the sun. Magnificent.
After a while, you can smell the wheat fields, still in the sun. Then, the pure butter shortbreads. After about 30 minutes, the smell of coconut unfortunately tends to diminish. But how do you manage to wait all this time?

Deliciously long. Very very slight trace of smoke. Fat cereals.

As always, the nose is awesome, in the mouth it is surprisingly gruff, quite a lot of bitter aromas, but they still harmonize well. Different, bitter, but the same high level as the previous bottlings. However, the price called is now very absurd ...
    • Nose
Sweet, floral, creamy, citrus, yes, it really smells like creamy cream cake with lemon peel, after a while it is a bit tart, grassy, the citrus notes are a bit in the foreground. Over time, sweeter, vanilla. The nose is really a look.
    • Taste
tart, zesty, but also a creamy mouthfeel, almost creamy, oak is also there, but the bitterness is quite surprising here. Lots of lemon peel.
    • Finish
tart, citrus, oak, mint, almost cooling, surprisingly tart, citrus peel.

A difficult malt for me - it fluctuates on my palate between incredibly fruity tasty, but mostly too bitter and not too sweet - whereby the fluctuation shows up more than pulsating - you drink more of it it gets better, but I still don't like bitter in I am not willing to compromise the amount and the price tag
    • Nose
      88 88
slightly tingly like sparkling wine but at the same time very fine, dusty stone flour, increasingly yellow-fruity - quite dynamic and elegant - looks a bit older than 12y
    • Taste
      86 86
Pear, mineral, a little dusty, full of vanilla, quince, light green wood - but also freshly sawn, slightly resinous strips, moderately sweet
    • Finish
      86 86
dark chocolate, roasted nuts, nougat, butter, lightly burnt caramel

Only tastes rudimentary like Daftmill and above all dry and woody. Without Restdaftmill it would be unappetizing.

I drank most of the "standard bottlings" with 46% and am really not neutral about Daftmill, but this one is no good.

Great whisky! At first, quite cautious in the nose, you actually have to let some breath. But then bombastic light fruity aromas. Pineapple and banana. White wine. Creme brulee. Strong in the mouth, the 46% look good on him. Again, fruit and wine notes, slightly buttery and full of grain. Subtly bitter.
Dry and slightly sour in the finish. Great quality, but of course a bit too expensive. 88 pts

  9. Dram Dracula scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

An extremely promising distillery with a heavy distillate with soft, beautiful notes. A wonderful addition to the whisky world. I guess that's why they are so so pricey.

      Like a dry riesling.
    • Taste
      90 90
Truly, like an excellent dry riesling. Soft, elegant, and creamy, full of Anjou pears, white grapes, and subdued, mild Swiss cheese. Quite simple, but considering its age, quite complex. Again, the distillate is top notch, no doubt.
    • Finish
      89 89
Creamy, balanced, and smooth. I approve of this message.

    Nose:
    Honey, pear

    Taste:
    vanilla, citrus, caramel

    Finish:
Very intense aftertaste, maybe a little fennel in the end?
