- Cheerful, good-humored, always-available friend who brightens up your life. No in-depth conversations but a fun night of chatting, that kind of friend. Indispensable type. Easy, friendly, recognizable - the calvados immediately pops up. Absolutely recommended for an extremely happy price. What's not to like.
- Young Apples
Michael Walsh is the youngest Master Distiller in Ireland. He works hard every day to distill whiskey at Boann, but for now they have to make do with whiskey bought elsewhere until their own spirit has matured for long enough. Today I will try the Whistler that was finished on calvados casks. I am curious.
The calvados is immediately present on the nose in the guise of young apples . Next to that I get some sweet malt and honey, as well as a slice of lime and some margarine. Fresh and lively.
Nicely oily on the palate, soft on the spices and quite summary. Again lots of apples and lime, but I also taste quite a bit of grain whiskey. In all honesty I thought this was a malt, but I think now that this might in fact be a blend.
The medium long finish leaves no doubt about the fact that there is indeed grain in the mix, because I get pencil shavings, wood and corn next to the omnipresent apples.
With a price tag of less than 40 EUR this is still a pleasant whiskey.
- A very young tasting, grainy whiskey. You should ideally be able to do something with Calvados as a drink, because the additional 15 months in the barrel have left their mark. He's not really mine, but Calvados Finishes rarely meet my taste. The finish is quite conciliatory but there is still room for the future in terms of taste.

- Somehow like Parisians me Hubba Bubba
Blueberry aroma on the nose. Watery grain in taste. And how do I not know something like pineapple in the finish and that even lasts. Funny part
- Apple, vanilla, butter, melon, pineapple and cotton candy
