So far the Elsen have not met my taste. With this one, the nutty finish really inspires me today and with a little air, the overall picture is tasty and round. It is already very charged, but the sweet impression is well balanced by a light fruit acid. For the 60 euros called up, I would definitely buy it. But I'd rather try it again on another day beforehand.

First of all, the wood seems to me like in the other bottlings from Zorge that I have tried so far, somehow put on again, it is more or less "in the way" for me and does not fit in so harmoniously. There is a smell of fresh, new wood. Which I actually really like. He's also very cute. Like the vineyard peach jam with lavender that I have open at the moment. But also a slightly vinous acidity contrasts with the sweetness. Over time, it appears a little less charged, becomes rounder and more harmonious. Roasted coffee. Nice and fruity compote.

Winey-bitter-tart. Slightly astringent. New wood. Green nut. Unripe grapes. A bit harsh logging. It then becomes fruity and increasingly sweet, always supported by a light and very pleasant fruit acid.

Initially tart. Toasted wood. Furry feeling on the tongue, which then quickly turns into an extremely tasty nuttiness for me. Warming, a bit peppery, but that goes well. An intense aftertaste of capucchino with hazelnut aroma or of white chocolate with hazelnuts. I'm totally into that. At the very back, the bitter wood wort remains for a long time.

    • Nose

Intense, slightly alcoholic nose, which - quite unusual for an Elsburn - also has something biting, but still comes up with exciting and unusual notes.
In addition to pickled raisins, lush vanilla and a fine citrus note, I also find something salty and iodine-rich that reminds me of the smell of a stalactite cave. There is also some thyme and overripe figs. The latter aroma is what I initially described as "pungent".
But it's also nice here that the Hammerschmiede house style clearly comes through.

Strong on the palate, slightly alcoholic, slightly acidic, slightly out of round. The body is unusually thin. Chocolate cake, again the pickled raisins, brine, lemon.
    • Finish
      84 84
Short to medium length finish. Slightly bitter. Vanilla, raisins, chocolate cake, nuts, old, slightly damp cardboard.

Nose: Very thick and intense fragrance comes from the glass, as I expected, very barrel-charged, very vinous with a tart touch. Sweetened fruits such as jam, a mixture of red and light cooked fruits but also a little bit sour like grapefruit with a hint of caramel, vanilla comes, glucose and a tart herbal note that I can't really attribute.

Taste: sweet and oily, a real fruit bomb, white chocolate, a bit of herbs again, a slightly burnt note that doesn't bother.

Finish: short to medium length, caramel with increasing seasoning and slowly the oak is also noticeable on the cheeks with milk chocolate.

I don't think I had a Marsala whisky in a glass yet. Today I prefer other types of wine barrel maturation, but you would have to test it more extensively. It is nice to drink, but is now not remembered, but still a good malt for the money.

    A nice, delicious droplet.
Spectacularly unspectacular, but simply a great beginner. Finer and better and full of flavors than the JOURNEY.

Judging by old qualities over 90 worth, based on what was still available very good 89 points.

    Value for money is fantastic.

Flavor: fruity, strawberry, grape, spices, panna cotta, white / light chocolate.

A lot of things were simply done right here. 46% is not too strong, rather too weak, but for 59.50 a Marsala Full Maturation is really great.
