very enticing, pink-ish colour.. perfumed, flowery-fruity nose on tarry ash.. taste is indeed a bit thin, but keeps it interesting with sour cherries and wild berries and peat.. spicy finish that is unfortunately a bit muddled and cloying.
despite all the bitching about taste, the nose (and the colour, if that matters) are simply fantastic!
This Ledaig in my opinion shoes peat and smoke in combination with a very present sweetness from red berries. The maturation of the red wine amarone is very present. That is not my favorite Cask maturation and unfortunately the whisky is a bit thin for the almost 53%
