beautiful, lively GF, not bitter, not too much dry wood - everything that has bothered me massively about not darksherry glued younger GF in recent years, this one does not have - it looks a bit young but also very exciting and tasty - big bang for the buck - this is how the 15yo should taste
    • Nose
      86 86
bright red strawberries, raspberry lemonade, honey, green twigs, tree sap, balanced, pulsating, lively, crisp, exciting
    • Taste
      87 87
Orange, strawberries, honey, herbal tea, liquorice, oily with well-integrated alcohol, distillery character comes out well - here too, unexpectedly tasty and honest
    • Finish
      85 85
here it weakens a bit, not an issue considering the price, just drink n double :) more schnapps makes more finish - it builds up

Caramel, pepper, vanilla, gooseberry, fig, hazelnut and pastry. The twist of grappa that is often there in Glenfarclas.
    • Taste
      86 86
Caramel, apple, pepper, hazelnut and malt.
    • Finish
      87 87
      Apple, caramel, vanilla and hazelnut.

      Unusual nose for a Glenfarclas.
Light fruit, fermented grapes, somewhat pointed, very balanced and round, white chocolate. I like it very much, if not a little unexpected and not one hundred percent my profile.
Here you can see again that Glenfarclas simply makes good whisky.
    • Taste
      87 87
Could use more volume, but very pleasing, not too mild, still fruity and also some oak and ginger.
    • Finish
      87 87
      Adequate

'Unusual' Glenfarclas - more than worth a try. Thanks Schmausel for sharing. Emptied the 5cl immediately - quaffable stuff.
Surprisingly, nose and taste differ a lot. 45% abv are perfect to keep intensity but still being smooth enough.
    • Nose
      82 82
Very fruity in the beginning, lemon candies, honey, winegums, much sweeter and less spicy and woody than usual for Glenfarclas. Very light. Minor flaws probably caused by younger elements.
Getting even better and more balanced if you are patient.
    • Taste
      87 87
A bit more of the usual Glenfarclas profile arriving on the palate. Toffee, hazelnuts and hints of dark chocolate are complementing the sweet and fruity nose. Intense, well placed ABV.
    • Finish
      88 88
Starting quite spicy, Caramel and lemon drops evolving out of the intense spicyness. Longer than expected considering NAS and price. Some dried fruits in the aftertaste. Leaving the wish to take another dram.

  7. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 85 points Connoisseur

Very atypical of a Glenfarclas and haven't seen much sherry cask. A dignified Speysider. Delicious.
    • Nose
Yellow fruits, fresh, ripe, refreshing, mirabelle plums, honey, the oak brings a nice sweetness with it. Fruit salad, honey and vanilla. Very flattering and tasty.
    • Taste
here initially surprisingly strong and spicy. Much more wood than expected, spice, and still a few sweet fruit notes.
    • Finish
Here the oak comes into play first, before the honey and the fruit gain the upper hand a little more. The oak, but not too bitter, then sounds like it usually does.

  8. YUJEN scored this whisky 95 points Newbie

A nice and gourmet Glenfarclas but not at its best. Too short and not enough "compound". If it had to be given a subjective note
