    Well drinkable, slightly smoky, bourbon matured whisky. A tasty malt with medium complexity.
    • Nose

      Needs time in the glass, at least 20 minutes: lime, canned pineapple slices, apples and pears, fruit sweetness, minimal peat smoke. All in all a bit reserved, the aromas are not intrusive.

      Edit: With air in the bottle significantly more aromatic.
    • Taste

      Pineapple, tropical fruits, lime, slightly sweet, but also noticeable acidity. Better on the palate than on the nose. The alcohol is well integrated and pushes the aromas forward. Water not necessary.
    • Finish
      87 87
      Peat smoke is most noticeable here, but not excessive either. Remains medium long. Again tropical fruits and lime.

    Yummy, but not the whisky.

      nose: very restrained, light fruity (grape, pear), sweet, cooling (mint), in the empty glass there is vanilla and a hint of peat
      Second round: Now there are sour apple rings, shower sticks, nice citrus note

      sweet, spicy, a little bitter, strong but not too strong alcohol

    Conclusion: This extraordinary single malt is one of my favorite whiskys. Especially in the nose it is a sensation. The taste cannot keep up 100%, but it doesn’t need to hide. It is very easy to drink and tastes fantastic. The overall package is right through and through! WOW!

    Distilled, matured and bottled in Scotland.

    The Speyside within the Highlands is home to most of the Scottish distilleries seen on the area. The Linkwood distillery in the north of this region has been producing single malt whisky there since 1825.

    The independent bottler Pat Hock Whisky bottles a single bourbon hogshead of 250 liters in natural cask strength, which was previously allowed to mature for 17 long years.

    Tasting Notes

    Smell: Juicy fruits, pineapple and papaya, pleasant nuttiness behind, aromatic oak wood with a hint of campfire smoke. After a while, the existing complexity is harmoniously rounded off by a sugary sweetness.

    Taste: Intense, sour fruit notes, pineapple and papaya can be found, carried by pithy cereals and nuts.

    Finish: medium length, pleasant sweetness underlines the fading fruitiness, elegant oak with a hint of campfire smoke in the finish.
