Whisky Reviews for Glendronach 13-year-old Sauternes Finish
3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 83.19 points
- Limited edition GlenDronach Sauternes Finish, aged 13 years and bottled at 46%. Just 2400 bottles was made in October 2009. This is a particularly unique bottling as it deviates from the traditional heavily sherried style typical of GlenDronach.
This particular whisky is finished in Château d'Yquem Premier Cru Superior Sauternes wine barrels. The box for the whisky has the name of the vineyard(Château d'Yquem Premier Cru Superior) on it. Because of this Château d'Yquem threatened to sue Glendronach if the did not remove the bottle from the market, and they did. So there are only a limited amount of this bottle out there. My guess less than 200 today.

- Delicious thing 2
Sweet, some white wine grapes, plus some apples.
A few bitter notes to the beginning, the whisky occupies the mouth. Almonds come out in the back.
A little sweet, a bit bitter but not too over the top.
