With the 24th bottling, Glenfarclas has completed the Personalities series. For my personal taste, the 1990 Glenfarclas is "nice" to drink. No more and no less. One would expect more complexity for his old age. The nose is rather disappointing, the taste is average for me, as is the finish. For a good 200 euros you get a lot more for the money at some Family Cask. It is a pity that Glenfarclas has also turned the price screw properly. If you got issues 22 and 23 last year for a good 150-170 euros, you have to spend over 200 euros. However, you cannot taste the additional price. I will not buy a bottle. I give 88 points. Slainte

Nose: In the beginning the 1990s was very cautious on the nose. Perhaps it is because I have been drinking whisky in cask strength for quite some time, but at first glance this one appears to be quite "flat". The alcohol is not felt at all. Gradually, very sweet sherry flavors appear, not the dark, heavy sherry notes, but rather light fruits. Honey sweetness and a light herbal note are added over time. Everything is very balanced, nothing stands out great. The alcohol is still not really noticeable. Not particularly exciting for me.

The Glenfarclas is oily on the tongue. Fortunately, you finally notice something about alcohol. A slight tingling sensation on the tip of the tongue is felt in the first few seconds. However, this quickly fades away and gives way to a pleasant sweetness. You almost think you have an ex-Bourbon barrel matured in your mouth. The honey sweetness is very present, followed by the herbal notes. I taste heather and delicate wood notes and hints of ginger. Everything is well balanced. No bad notes, no sulfur.
    • Finish

I would describe the finish as medium. As is typical of such whiskys, the pleasant sweetness stays in the mouth, which is gradually replaced by the herbal notes. In the end, a slightly bitter taste remains in the mouth without being able to completely displace the sweetness.

I'll make it short: woodier than No. 23 and also a bit more bitterness - otherwise harmoniously fits into the personalities. I would only spend 200 € if I want / have to keep the collection of the personalities completely.
