Lotsss of fruits! Oranges and lemon is what first comes to mind. Some raisins ofcourse. A great combination of passionfruit, grapefruit and pineapples. Some sweet fruity toffees and honey. At the end it turns a bit harsh with notes of roasted peanuts, cacao and a lovely hint of old oak.

Raisins and plums to start with. Again the lovely oranges on the palate too. Sweet cherries next. Cinnamon complemented by ginger. Some harder notes now like chocolate, walnuts and oak.

Medium-long. Orange juice! Hmmmm... a hint of honey and vanilla toffees with a bit of cinnamon.

It has its own distillate aroma which is not easy to describe, you need enough rest, water and time to discover and sort the aromas. Definitely not a whisky for beginners, also because of the high alcohol content. It's quite complex and demanding. A whisky for discoverers and not suitable for every day.

Cotton candy, grapefruit, lemon, glucose lozenges, gooseberry, carambola, spring meadow, walnut

      Ginger, kumquat, honeydew melon, butterscotch

Medium-long, off-dry, dextrose, butterscotch, vanilla stick, a bit grassy, lemon peel

An intense whisky with wonderful cherry and chocolate aromas. Unfortunately too young and hot-blooded - a lower alcohol strength would have been better. Absolutely enjoy with water ...
    • Nose
      87 87
Heavy sherry sweetness, then tart citrus fruit - maybe grapefruit, raisins, cocoa. The alcohol stings a bit, but overall is quite well integrated.
With water, the smell hardly changes, maybe becomes a little lighter, the fruit is now more in the direction of sour cherry.
    • Taste
      84 84
Without water, the alcohol is much too hot, hot and sweet.

With water: sweet and sour cherries, ginger, the alcohol is still (too) hot, bittersweet chocolate.
    • Finish
      86 86
Intense sweet and tart, sour cherries in chocolate. Delicious. About medium length.

With water: same aromas, the intensity increases a little - almost for a long time.

Very unusual with special cherry / almond / marzipan notes. You can tell from his young age that even the high percentage of alcohol can't hide it, and he's not very complex now. But unusual and with a long chocolate sweetness, which is quite pleasing. If you like it, you will get your money's worth here.
Water is definitely good for him. Three drops already work here.

Chocolate, cherry, almond and marzipan aromas come straight to your nose. You can also hear some grapefruit. And the alcohol cannot be kept secret.
    • Taste
      87 87
Sweet, a little caramel, cherry notes that are already heading for Amarena cherries. Nice that this sweetness remains.
The marzipan / almond notes also remain. Contains something liqueur-like. The alcohol is there too, but not as spicy as you might think at over 60%.
Honey and dextrose can also be recognized. Some lemon
    • Finish
      85 85
The sweetness is still there, but less. A bit dry, but only minimal. Short to medium length finish.

A new star in the firmament of the Scotch Universe. The distillery originates from Speyside and was founded in 1974 -> Auchroisk?

    Color: Relatively bright. Light gold.
    Price of the bottle 0.7L = 64.50 €

The nose is convincing, the rest are too young too strong. For 9 years, you can't really complain, but I don't need it again.

The nose is great. At the beginning I imagine light notes of grapefruit which then quickly give way to intense dried fruit. Raisin and fig in particular dominate. Very sweet notes. The 61.5% vol. are noticeable, but actually well integrated.
    • Taste
      76 76
In the mouth there is a very intense sharpness that shows what 61.5% vol. are. Strong tingling on the tongue. The whisky definitely needs water. A nice result comes after 3 drops.
There is a very light sherry dryness in the mouth, creamy caramel, light vanilla and that's about it.
    • Finish
      76 76
Departure without water very sharp and very hot. Take a little breath to breathe. The taste remains surprisingly long in the mouth.
After said 3 drops of water much better. Still sharp but much more pleasant. Taste is still there for a long time.
