This particular offering was bottled in the 1980`s
I will get another 43% bottle of this, for only 8 years old it is quality, bit I am a Dufftown fan and think generally the distillery is much overlooked by the whisky public at large.
Now I will try it head to head against an older 70`s 80 proof bottling.
A fragrant light toffee nose with hints or orange and lemon peel.
Lemon puff biscuit, white pepper and hints of white wine vinegar.
Tangy and fruity with a bog vibrant zesty attack and there is some peat in the nix with hints or orange and raspberry.
A good first impression, getting a little creamy and then some nice spice notes with the faintest hint of liquorice , with a hints of warm bread,
Good balance of show
Spicy & peppery until the end, good length, moreish
