    Very complex, fresh and spicy aromas in the smell with a pleasant sweet and sour fruit note and the subtle, maritime basic character of a spring bench. If you don't like this "dirty" influence, you may not have fun here.
    You can keep it in your mouth forever. Nothing burns and the constantly changing aromas, which are difficult for me to break down, do not cause boredom here either.
    The finish is long but cannot keep up with the previous impressions. It gets too bland for me too quickly and above all it remains dry wood.
    Overall, a great spring bench.

      fermented light fruits, green apples, some iodine, salt, some malt, white pepper, clove, cocoa powder, scorched wood, caramel, weak furniture polish, mint, a little grated lemon peel. Every now and then briefly sweetened plums, honey and raisins flash. Always new impressions, it will not be boring in the nose.

      sweet, spicy, sweetened plums, pepper, malt, tart honey, tannins, becoming creamy, sugar candy, raisins, cough syrup, salty, peppermint, slightly sparkling, a little sulfur, burned matches, strong dark chocolate

      long finish, lots of wood, some ash, too little fruit and sweetness, stale, unsweetened peppermint tea. Overall, it is too stale for me here

      Unpleasantly acidic in the beginning, the fruitiness is overlaid by sour notes. It's as much fun in the mouth as a rotten yogurt.

      Doesn't take much off the taste, reminds me of the spit-on burp cloths of my children as babies.

      With a lot of ice cream and cola it will probably work

    First 15er / I expected more...head to head with the 12CS he definitely looses the race. Though he is a bit different more on the darker side ..maybe it's this batch it's so cloudy that one could think that it's under 46 ABV /: everything handmade at Springbank so shit can happen? It's still really good but not outstanding... a bit sulfur on the palate but that's hopefully gone when opened for a while...maybe the rate will rise when come back to it .. but for now freshly opened and a short try 88.

    Slight change in the rate after 3 weeks / very decent Springer with the notes you excpect (Sherry(fruit,sweetness,) Dunnagenote, salty, choclate - round from start to finish with all the edges i like) )...sulfur hardly noticeable (today?) - what ever easy 89....after 2 month it's even more improved...damn 90 Springbank just needs time ;)

    • Nose
      Reminds me of milk chocolate upfront. The sherry influence is clearly present with sour morello cherries, juicy plums and cranberries. Also a touch of burnt matchsticks or sulphur (but not something I find overpowering). Some fresh green apples and limes. Salted caramel and orange peel. Herbal thyme and aniseed with cooling menthol. There is some mild peat in the background as well but not overpowering in any sense. A touch of cracked black pepper warmth as well.
    • Taste
      A creamy mouthfeel. Juicy fruits and more sour cherries. A little bit of vanilla and burnt caramel. The sherry influence from the nose carry over very well into the palate with juicy plums and fig notes. A touch of that sulphur note. Warming ginger spice then develops into a milk chocolate along with some liquorice. More baking spices here with cinnamon and nutmeg.
    • Finish
      Medium long and bittersweet. Oak tannins leave dark cocoa and roasted coffee notes and a herbal mint note. Some overbreed black tea. Here some poached pears make an appearance as well.

    this "dirty" character is certainly fun for many malt lovers ... it is not mine now, try to exclude that in the assessment as far as possible and keep it more objective.
    For beginners it isn’t anything, because it is too complex; But for lovers and advanced users there is a lot to discover and the malt also constantly changes the aromas in the interplay with the air.
    Yes, it can do something - swings back and forth between herbs and fruits.
    The taste is more herbs and spices than fruit; comes out at the back and goes in the direction of mocha and dark chocolate.
    [86 - 82 = good whisky -> get a second bottle? Maybe...]
    It's not bad, but neither is the revelation (at least not for me); around 100 euros for the 15? Are they all turning freely now? Wow, no thanks, the sample is enough for me.

      initially herbal note, which also comes across as a bit dirty - as if herbs such as thyme, oregano, marjoram and a little rosemary were put in diesel ... but that goes away with time.
      Then there is a fruity sweetness of red and yellow, partially fermented fruits (apricots, plums, raisins, juicy apples, which slowly start to rot).
      Something floral appears in the background and becomes clearer with time and enough air.
      Seasoning and spices spread out next to it; I have cinnamon, nutmeg and lovage / Maggie herb.
      I also have green moments of wet moss on musty pine logs; musty wine cellar.
      Some barrel char, charred wood; but I also have impressions of salty sea breezes in the background.

      quite spicy right from the start, ginger spiciness on the tongue. Eminently herbaceous in the mouth, the fruits hold back a little at the first sip;
      it becomes drier and also somehow velvety on the tongue.
      Second sip: will herbs, fruits come through a little better, plus cinnamon and above all nutmeg.
      Creamy texture. Barrel char with roasted aromas comes through and leaves something like light smoke in the mouth.

      long finish with herbs and spices; velvety, dark chocolate with roasted aromas.
      The chocolate is becoming increasingly bitter with a high cocoa content and drier.
      Tobacco and leather are delayed.

    I still like the nose pretty much, on the palate it is initially also reasonable, but with the rather uninspired, alcoholic finish it clearly gives away its potential.

      The alcohol stings briefly, followed by cherry, orange, banana, honey. In addition, overripe apples, burnt caramel and a minimal hint of smoke.

      Very briefly sweet, then quickly quite spicy. Cherry, wood, chocolate, honey and caramel. The alcohol is still properly incorporated.

      Medium-long finish with spiciness, pepper, slight bitterness. The alcohol is getting pretty aggressive now
