Whisky Reviews for Clynelish 1993 GM

2 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 84.33 points

  1. Igor scored this whisky 82 points Expert Senior

To sum up, this is not really my type of aroma, albeit being a decent malt in general.
    • Nose
Dense oiliness, barley malt, millet, a small manure note, smells of farmyard, silage, sunflower seeds/-oil - assertively. Behind all that some liquorish can be detected, wheat grains, bread covered with sesame seeds, thyme.
    • Taste
Marine flavours take full advantage on the palate. Seaweed-y, laminaria, citrus in combination with some green, savoury parsley, spinach dock. It's rather soft and palatable in actual fact, yet warming too. Cream, salt, lemon rind, a hint of turmeric maybe?, cardamom.
    • Finish
Expands in spices even further, brine/salt water, then resonates through citruses, rousing acidity by that. Weak notes of sour cream and fennel melt away soon. Not very long, medium finish.

  2. AlecM scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

Nose has smoke with sea salt, liquorice and toasted malt. Toasted coconut, spicy and malty to taste, with a long spicy finish.
